He's probably the least important character at this point given all thats happened in the manga. But I cant overlook the only one besides Naruto who has potential. Think about it, he was made fun of because he's fat, always put down for eating too much and because of this he sought to become stronger, not only to put an end to the mockery but to also protect those he cared for and he wanted to be acknowldged.
Now, if im not mistaken... Wasnt that Naruto motivation also? To become strong? To be acknowldged?
I believe Choji alongside Naruto has more in common than anyone else in the manga, you all might say "No, Gaara and Naruto are more alike" Well they're really not... The only similarity between the two might be that Gaara used to be a Jinchuriki as Naruto is. Choji has shown such progress over the years, and in raw power, might be the strongest of Ino-Shika-Cho. The Nara's shadow possession technique might not be strong enough to hold him at this point in his growth... Take note, this is an assumption, but seeing what Choji can now do, we would all think it possible.
He has the drive to make something of himself, being next in line for being the head of his family house is a huge honor. Like all in the later generation, he's also succeeded in surpassing his father, and all those of his clan.
His greatest feat byfar in the manga is being able to execute his clan's calorie control technique without the need for the pills he used in part 1 during his fight with Jirobo when he was assigned to the retrieval of Sasuke Uchiha (a member of the former sound four) and was able to kill him, something the chunnin exam proctor Genma Shiranui couldnt accomplish even though Jirobo was accompanied by his comrades, Genma was beaten along with his comrades as well... Genma Shiranui, you may not know is a personal body guard to the Hokage, had indept knowledge on the Flying Thunder God technique as Minato taught it to him and two other shinobi apart of the Hokage Guard.
Choji has come a long way and no doubt still has a long way to go. My point in this thread is to shed light on a minor character and his feats. He's worthy of the Jounin rank... Thoughts?
