yes, this could be a possibility. in my mind it could make sense seeing as they both have a mangekyou sharingan belonging to the same pair. this explains why kakashi saw and could cut through the rin/young obito illusion after "stabbing" obito with chidori. the last panel also makes sense in my opinion if you think of it as them battling it out inside their genjutsu.

I predict next chapter shows them both panting, after a stalemate in a internal-mental/genjutsu battle. both still alive
