Children should be taught in a religionclass that based on our current scientific knowledge all the religions of the world are wrong. In all the other subjects they teach you the latest understanding of each, but not in religion.
Theres just as evidence about gods as there is about Ctulhu or Loch Ness Monster. If a schoolkid asks the teacher whether the Holocaust really happened, the teacher cannot lie. If he asks about Ctulhu being real, the teacher will most definitely say no. If however the schookid asks the teacher about God being real, the teacher unfortunately cannot say that no God doesn't exist. You can tell it about other things that how our latest understanding about it is, but not about God.
The world would become so much better place, when the children would not be lied about this matter. Religions are a artificial and illusionary way to divide people into groups that have confrontation between each other. Religions are superstition, that makes people to kill each other and outsource their moral and responsibility to a spiritual being that does not exist. Also from a scientific point of view, as Richard Dawkins said: "One of the things that is wrong with religion is that it teaches us to be satisfied with answers which are not really answers at all."
