So I was browsing Crunchyroll on my iPhone and came across Chihayafuru!! This anime is really good, the genre is sport and romance. If you see the summary on Crunchyroll, it's horrible. It's horrible and misleading. Here is what it says,
Crunchyroll said:
Ayase Chihaya is a sixth grader whose dream is for her older sister to become the top model in Japan.

NO! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!! That is not the story!! It's some of the story, but that barely scratched the surface!! I'm not good at all with summaries but here's my best try..

Chihayafuru is about Ayase Chihaya. She befriends the transfer student from Fukui, Wataya Arata, who everyone neglects. (THIS IS ONLY LIKE THE 2ND AND 3RD EPISODE. ITS A FLASHBACK!!) The popular and smart boy in her class, Mashima Taichi is very fond of Chihaya, but shows it by being mean. He gets kind of jealous because Chihaya is spending a lot of time with Arata. When Chihaya and Arata are about to walk to his house, Taichi pushes Arata down out of jealousy, then pushes Chihaya, threatening her by saying everyone is going to ignore her if she keeps hanging out with Arata. The 2 (Chihaya and Arata) walk to his house. After talking for a while they play Karuta a card game. He asks her is she likes to play and she says they have competitions at their school. He gets really excited and instantly takes out the cards. They play for a while and Arata shows his talent. He is very fast and he is very good at it. Taichi challenges Arata to a match in the school competition. In the first round, Taichi plays and wins. Then, Arata plays and Taichi sees how good how is. Before their match, Taichi gets mad and steals Arata's glasses. Now he can't play Karuta because he can barely see. Chihaya takes Arata's spot and wins. Then after that the 3 become very good friends and go to the local Karuta Society. Chihaya and Taichi realize that Karuta is a sport. They keep playing. Suddenly, Taichi says he got accepted into a really good middle school. And Arata is moving back to Fukui because his grandfather (A master Karuta player) is ill. They play a small game of Karuta after Arata finishes packing. Then Arata starts crying. Then Chihaya starts crying. Arata sas he doubts they'll ever see each other again, but Chihaya says as long as they have Karuta, they will see each other again. *END OF FLASHBACK*

Well, that's just a summary of the 2nd and 3rd episode. The main story is pretty awesome and it's funny at times. I would describe it as "an adventure of never-ending friendship." It shows teamwork and friendship etc. What made me sad was that there is only 25 episodes. Buuut.. It is scheduled for a 2nd season!! I would summarize the rest of the episodes, but I don't like spoiling the main story. Since I'm bored, here is an overview.. (Kind of long.. xd :|)

Ayase Chihaya has a dream. It''s not about her though. It's about her sister, she wants her sister to be the best model in Japan. Soon enough after playing Karuta with Wataya Arata, she realizes that she needs a dream of her own, a dream about herself. Arata helps her with that. Saying the best female Karuta player is called the "Queen." Chihaya then makes it her dream to become the Queen. Since they just finished 6th grade they are going to middle school. But they all get separated because Taichi is going to a really good school, Chihaya is staying in the area, and Arata is moving back to Fukui. In high school, Taichi surprisingly turns down an offer to go to a good high school and goes to the same high school as Chihaya. Chihaya and Taichi go to Fukui to see Arata. They successfully do, but Arata no longer plays Karuta, due to the death of his grandfather. They start a club and find 3 other members, Oe Kanade, Nishida Yusei, and Komano Tsutomu. Kanade and Tsutomu and beginners, but Nishida is really good. He won 2nd place at a national tournament, after Arata, who got 1st. They compete in tournaments and surprisingly, won a high school tournament with a lot of other high schools in Japan. They see Arata in a few tournaments because he started playing again. The club starts competing in more tournaments and continue getting better, and better.

(The overview has a lot of missing details, I didn't want to make it too long.)
