Lava RS cut the whole god tree while sasuke's PS was only able to cut a small branch of God tree with quite difficulty.

Last time base exhausted naruto's Rasengan was able to stalemate with chidori + amaterasu combination.

Kishi has already shown numerous times that base rasengan > base chidori.

Even though chidori is a nature manipulation while rasengan is a shape manipulation yet rasengan is stronger.
my point was never that it was stronger

just more versatile

Rasengan because no matter what your nature affinity you can combine your element with it.

Chidori is limited just to Raiton, While Rasengan goes with pretty much Any element
Never thought about it that way, Bolt is finna be OP.

OT: I like Chidori, it just seems cooler.

CHIDORI. It looks cooler. It sounds cooler. It's more useful, more practical. It's more versatile. It's more lethal, a killer, a "weapon of choice for assassination".

Rasengan holds more punch and has greater destructive power but Chidori is sharper and has superior piercing power. Rasengan is a showy smasher, Chidori is a stealthy blood spiller. They both have usefulness in different cases, Rasengan is useful for destruction (for example Naruto destroyed Shinno's flying fortress in the movie Bonds, Chidori couldn't do that on similar level) but Chidori has the slight edge in battle (Chidori's killing power is greater than Rasengan, Minato could do nothing to Obito after smashing a big Rasengan but destruction was greater whereas Chidori went right through his heart and could've killed him if he was normal) IMO. Plus, its versatility just takes it to a new level against Rasengan.

I would happily wield any of them since they are both powerful and awesome, but if given a choice, Chidori will be my priority.

BTW, I'd prefer to be hit by a Rasengan over Chidori. Breaking a few bones is preferable than death.

I said choose based on the normal versions only!!! :dafq:
Shape transformation can be considered a part of normal version since it changes form based on the original technique's pureness. Nature transformation is different since other elements are involved.

Rasengan is a rank above Chidori and has a higher overall damage output. Looks cooler to me too.

Plus, the possibilities are endless with Rasengan. You can combine it with every nature under the sun and alter the shape however one sees fit. I wanna see a Rasen-Shuriken has a Katon middle and Fuuton blades, for instance.

Rasengan..

Because you can use nature manipulation and Wind rasengan was able to damage kakuzu to its cellular levels, killed all hearts and destroyed him completely
While raikiri destroyed 1

Plus u can add lightning element to rasengan and makes it more strong

Isn't that a matter of where they hit him? Didn't Minato's attack hit his zetsu side? When does a Rasengan user ever aim for the heart?

and the Irony at bold...fact of the matter Chidori did go through him, but failed to kill him...why is this used to belittle Rasengan, when it's acknowledged that Obito isn't Normal?

Yes, it's very much a matter of where they hit him. And the Rasengan hit Obito in the center of his body. So both of his sides received the same force and impact initially. One should have received damage even if it was little, if Rasengan could do any.

Plus, I wasn't referring to Obito's abnormality in the same aspect. It's not called "your irony", it's called "my failing to understand". Obito had a slight bit of immortality factor to him that made him abnormal. And that immortality factor had absolutely nothing to do with the damage he receives, with what you're trying to justify Rasengan's failure. He will be harmed regardless, only the effects of the harm will be negated.

And it's perfectly reasonable to be used to belittle Rasengan (only is sharpness aspect) because Chidori did what Rasengan couldn't to the same body. If you want to justify Rasengan's failure by calling Obito's body abnormal, then that makes Chidori even superior because Chidori would even pierce an abnormal body which Rasengan couldn't. No matter how you frame this, Chidori's piercing and killing aspects remains superior to Rasengan.

at bold...You got that right

So could Rasengan...If he was normal...no healing abilities.
