i'd choose rasengan, you dont need hand seals for it, its stronger, you can use it multiple times a day as long as you have chakra, and in my opinion it looks cooler :l

a resangan is a resangan same as sasuke chidori .Sasuke was exhausted while naruto was at full health and sasuke still manage or had chakra left to do chidori and counter the attack get over it

Rasengan for various reasons. Also, if you have other Nature types you can create a new form of it.

Chidori is just an unstable version of Rasengan charged with lighting nature. Too big a waste of Chakra.

Check ur Naruto facts spam face. Rasengan is the original. Chidori happened because kakashi tried to mix his Nature with Rasengan and it resulted in an unstable chakra wasting technique. Good technique but it wastes chakra and doesn't pack the same punch as Rasengan. Although it can be sharper.

Rasengan is stronger in almost every way. It's just not as piercing.

Read the Manga, during the fight at final valley they were even, in the final blow Sasuke aimed for Naruto whereas Naruto aimed for Sasuke's head band. Did you see the fight on the Hospital roof? They showed that the Rasengan did more damage than the Chidori, that's why Sasuke wanted more power.

I pick the rasengan, it requires no hand seal and is powerful without any element combined with it. Kakashi only made Chidori because he couldn't add lightning element with the rasengan. Both jutsus are A class jutsus and even but chidori is already an element bas jutsu while the rasengan is not so it can be further strenghten and we know there are more variations of the rasengan (Naruto) than the chidori (kakashi + Sasuke). I do like the variations of chidori but when it comes to power its the rasengan and its variations.
P.S Sasuke's chidori was weaker than Naruto's Rasengan because he ddn't hav enough power in it until at the valley of the end. (for those who comment chidori is weaker)

Umm no? Kakashi coould't add his lightning element to rasengan and made chidori after. both rasengan and chidori are A class level jutsus and are even, thats why the jutsus are always cancelled when Naruto and Sasuke go at it. Naruto have stronger variations of the rasengan but what'sin question are the base forms. Sasuke's chidori lacked power on the hospital's rooftop but got more power from taking that pill from the sound 4. Now both base rasengan and chidori are even. Kakashi's lightning blade is level S because he use more power and focus as the creator of the jutsu.

They were both at their limits.

If Naruto was at full health then he wouldn't have been unconscious at the end.
Sasuke too barely managed to walk away.

It's also a fact that Naruto wasn't trying to kill Sasuke during their final attacks while Sasuke had full intention to kill Naruto. Sasuke told Naruto that he couldn't even scratch him headband - he was mocking him.

In the end, Naruto purposefully aims to scratch Sasuke's headband when he could have slashed Sasuke's face instead.

-The Rasengan and Chidori are equal in terms of strength.

This is early in the fight where Sasuke and Naruto clash head on with the Chidori and Rasengan. This is when they are both at full power:

Look at page 3 of chapter 227. They both get knocked back equally.
Look at page 4 of chapter 227. Sasuke himself says he used his full powered Chidori but it could only match Naruto's Rasengan's power.
