Last week DICE unveiled Battlefield 4 with a 17-minute singleplayer gameplay video. However, that video was limited to 30 frames per second, since most online video sites automatically set the frame rate to 30 fps. This includes YouTube, where the Battlefield 4 gameplay video was posted by DICE.

Now you can enjoy the video with twice the frame rate: 60 fps. However, the only way to watch it is to download the video yourself (we’ve added the download links below), or to stream it from a site that supports 60 fps. Eurogamer has set up a stream
eurogamer.net/videos/battlefield-4-17-minutes-at-60fps-video-hd
where you can check out the Battlefield 4 video at 60 fps, but it’s advised that you use Google Chrome for best performance.

Speaking of “frame rates”, DICE yesterday confirmed that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Battlefield 4 will still run at 30 frames per second. DICE also said that multiplayer will be limited to 24 players, but that “higher frame rate is possible”. We’re guessing those “higher frame rates” will be reserved for the more powerful next-generation consoles. And the PC, of course.

We’ve checked out the video and it looks very smooth and much more life-like. Take a look yourself and download one of the two versions: 1080p at 60 fps (2.4 GB)

or the smaller 720p/60fps version (1.2 GB)
