Characters you believe if given depth could be greater.

With everything that is currently happening with Naruto, we have so many individual characters that are quite 2d. There are some that don't have that realistic element that make you enjoy the characters. Everyone's opinion varies, but there's a few things, if the characters were given the opportunity could take the story that next level.

Characters like Yamato, Anko, Danzo, Tobirama. Unless Kishi has something still installed for 'em.

Yamato's role could be better played if he were introduced earlier, during the same time when Orochimaru declared war on Konoha. He could have supported the Third in battle, stories of the Anbu featuring Kakashi could have been shown, a confrontation with Orochimaru that makes him conflicted and expand his wood abilities. Hashirama perhaps while resurrected could have given a few pointers on the Wood Style Jutsu. Thus his growth in power, could have attracted Orochimaru and along with Sasuke taken him or something...scratch that last part.xd

Anko, she could have shared a history with Yamato, both as subjects of Orochimaru. How she settled in with the leaf? An explanation to explain why the curse mark allowed Oro to return. It would be interesting, if along with other subjects alive from Oro's experiments could take him down.

Danzo, he should have been brought in earlier, more like foreshadowed. More flashbacks of him and Hiruzen's prime years would have been nice. Then we would have got to see more information on Tobirama, and how and why he created Edo Tensei.

These are my own personal thoughts for the characters that I'd like expanded on, how about the rest of you?

Neji. He's got all the components to be an awesome character, but Kishi doesn't give a damn.

..And Sakura and Gaara....I know they've gotten plenty of screen time already, but they need more 'cause they are awesome.

Itachi I found has had the most screen time to establish his ground in the show, which explains his thousands of fans.

Hanzo, yes I would have liked to know more about him to, how he was affiliated with the Mizukage, why he started the third ninja war, etc. It could lead to awesome characters.

Neji at this point, is starting to look even weaker than Hinata sadly. I wish they would come up with a new move for the Byakugan or even a new degree for the eye.

Kakashi's past, I'd like to know about his times in Anbu, along with Yamato!XD

Isn't that inevitable? So far he hasn't had a single flashback, which is unprecedented in this manga.

Anyway, most characters have a lot of potential if you ask me.

The Fodder 11: Shino, Kiba and Ino are basically still unknowns. I'd like to know more of Hinata as well.

Hanzo - All we know is that he was a powerhouse

Tobirama - The Forever Alone Kage

Guy - Have we seen anything of his childhood, history or anything like that?

Ibiki - Nice first appearance...Aaaaand he's gone!

And so on.

Rock Lee, Shino, Ino, remember Danzo's bodyguard who was in Ino's clan?

His voodoo doll jutsu was so beast it's almost OP. I could really see Ino fodderizing Sakura and Hinata if she could master her family's lineage of jutsu's, cut off the head and the body dies so to speak, but Ino is definitely top 20 material imho if they start powering up the other kids again.

Shino I think is just a friggin monster, and he's severly underrated on the base, remember how when he fought Gurens crystal release, we found out his beetles can develop an immunity to chakra types similar to how germs develop immunity to medicine. If this is the case than with enough battles Shino would unstoppable, don't even get me started on the potetential his bugs have, I think he may be able to get nanobugs like Torune, if that's the case, then taijutsu would be useless against him.

Rock Lee, is the pupil of Gai. Gai has already proven himself to be one of konoha's strongest Shinobi, infact I think he's much stronger than kakashi, barring EMS, and with the gates his power easily can exceed that of a kage. I'd say that if the theme of youth surpassing the elder's still runs rampant through the show, then Lee will eventually become one of konoha's strongest shinobi in the future, I can't imagine how much raw power he'd possess if he used 5 gates while in drunken fist mode. He'll be stronger than Neji should Kishi decide to develop him more, mark my words.

Agreed. The fillers could actually help flesh out the more forgotten characters. Instead they do...well...what? Ridiculous story arcs with horrible villains/joke episodes that usually just end up leaving you confused.
