Characters with Underrated Suffering

Characters like the Uchiha, Naruto and Nagato never seem to stop telling everyone about all the sh*t they've been through and use it as their motives for doing things, as if it makes them special or gives them a stronger resolve than anyone else in the Ninja world.

Then I thought, the general life of a ninja in this fictional world is pretty crappy. Nobody has an easy ride no matter how talented you are and I got thinking how some of the happiest and seemingly cheery people in the Naruto world are some who have actually suffered the most.

Jiraiya pops to mind. Jiraiya for example had a whole life of failure. Rejected by the woman he loved, went through the same emotions as Naruto with not being able to save Orochimaru. Fought in wars, never achieving pure sage mode. He couldn't save his sensei, Minato or the village and even the students he taught turned into S rank criminals in the Akatsuki and ultimately kill him. He may act stupid and cheery but this guy has been through a LOT. Not to mention he spent his whole life thinking he was the child of prophecy only to find out that it was all just a misunderstanding. This guy hasn't had an easy ride but do you see him trying to get revenge or blaming his problems on others? The guy is understated. And there a bunch of character's who are just morally sound enough to get over their problems and keep going, Shikamaru too.

people like the uchias hold grudges and acts as if there the only people thats been through pain yet there are other people like jiraiya ( as you pointed out) has been worst off yet he but it all behind him and moved forward.

Oh yeah, I guess this is true. His whole desire to save Sasuke and become Hokage totally comes from his past though.

Not only was he responsible in some way for the near deaths of Chouji and Neji in the Sasuke Retrieval Squad, but his sensei also died in his arms basically. Also, his father is now dead.

Orochimaru himself is a bit misunderstood too. His parents died when he was really young, he has cried more than once about how unfair death is, he became obsessed with trying to become immortal.

His actions have reasons behind them, even better reasons than Obito becoming a villain because Rin died. But no one views him that way. Plus Orochimaru doesn't go around like "my pain is greater than yours, you don't understand my hate, etc", he just does what he gotta do without being a crybaby

I feel like sasuke has a right to be angry but wut u said is relevant to his situation. he is only talking to the kage to add to his resolve. ppl like him just wanna be mad. i mean he tried to sacrifice naruto and kurin and they where ppl who cared about him the most. he really should only want revenge on the third and danzo. cause if he does distroy the village, wut will he do after?
