Chapter 1! Kakashi!
You were woken up to a shaking, you held up your head and saw a silver haired young man in his early 20’s with a mask and head band covering all of his face except his right eye. You jumped up and backed into a tree.
Man: Hey, hey. Take it easy! I’m here to help. I see you have a nasty kunai in your shoulder. Doesn’t that hurt?
You: *Nodded. *
Man: Who did this to you?
You: Why should I tell you, you might hurt me more!
Man: I’m not going to hurt you I can promise you that. Now, can you please tell me what happened to you?
You: Every other human being has treated me like a rag doll, what make you so different?
Man: I’ve learned to treat everyone with respect as a true ninja; they look down to no one.
You: You can be equal with someone and still hurt them in every possible way.
Man: I’d like it if you’d tell me what happened so that I can help. I don’t like having a bad conscience
You: *Sigh looks down at ground. * Long story or short?
Man: I like to know my details. Long.
You: Okay, well. I was asleep when I heard a noise earlier today. I woke up to check it out because I thought it was an animal. Turns out it was three men working for an evil organization and one said that my sneaking skills were poor, and threw this in my arm. He also said that at age sixteen, they’d kidnap me forcefully or willingly. And they said that if it was forceful, they’d kill me and make me a puppet~!
Man: Well that’s interesting! Hey, you might want to get that checked out. I can take you home if you want me to. I’m just heading home from a mission.
You: Uh, I don’t really have a home. I ran away from that when I was seven.
Man: Well then, I can take you down to the hospital in the village I live in and see where matters take you.
You: I don’t want to be a burden to you.
Man: Nonsense! I’m not going to leave a fellow human being in need when they deserve it.
You: Well, okay. But I need to know your name.
Man: Kakashi Hatake. Now, be respectful and tell me yours!
You: My name is Ren.
Kakashi: Just Ren?
You: Well, see my last name is Takara, and I will explain later why I don’t use that.
Kakashi: Okay, well then! Let’s get you to the hospital!
He swoops down and picks you up, bridal style and starts carrying you away from the forest. You silently said good-bye and went back to sleep in the strange man’s arms.
2-4 hours later.
You woke up very groggy in a little room with a window. You looked out of the window to see a bright, busy town.
You: Where the heck am I?
Kakashi: You’re up! You are in the town of Konohagakure. The Village Hidden in the Leaves.
You: Oh, okay. Well, am I okay?
Kakashi: Well, you’re still alive, so I think that’s good enough. But you had just a small infection when the kunai hit you. It should be gone without the need of medication though. Also you have a scar where the kunai was. Are you feeling well enough to leave?
You: Yeah, I feel fine.
Kakashi: Let me see if I can get you checked out then.
He left you in the room and you were starting to think about what your life would be like. You imagined going back to the forest and then running into your enemies again and then your family, how horrifying it would be if you went back there. You shed a small and silent tear if everything went back to that. What would life be? Would life even be worth living if you went back? No, you wanted to stay as far away from them as possible, there was no way you were going back there. Then what would happen when you were sixteen? Would your family just let you go? What were you going to do then? You certainly weren’t going to go with them. You pushed that thought to the back of your mind and thought of other things like, what would happen to Kakashi after you left? Would he continue his life and forget all about you? Or would you just become an object in a story of his glory? Then Kakashi came back in with the doctor.
Dr. Yuasa: Hello there! Let’s see how you’re doing and see if we can get you out of here. Lie back. I’m going to check your pulses.
You did what he said and he started to examine you. He told you to sit back up and he checked your heart, blood pressure and all the necessary things. After that he said you were good to go. You got up and started to follow Kakashi out the door.
As you stepped out of the hospital, you looked around and observed your surroundings. It was a peaceful town and the people seemed cheerful. There wasn’t much going on except for a rogue blond boy running around causing trouble. On the way, you saw a girl helping her parents tend to the flowers in the shop, a boy playing with his dog, and a man about Kakashi’s age and a boy about yours playing shougi while smoking a cigarette.
Kakashi: Ren, are you sure you have absolutely no place to stay?
You: One that I refuse to but other than that I’m sure I have no place to go except to the forest.
Kakashi: Well then Ren, how would you like to live with me? I have a spare bedroom and bathroom that was originally for guests but I don’t have guests that spend the night so that could be your room.
You: No jokes?
Kakashi: No jokes.
You: What’s the catch? Every great offer has a catch.
Kakashi: You will be treated with respect if you act respectfully. That’s the only catch. If you say yes, like any household or family there are some rules.
But mine won’t be too strict.
You: You sure you aren’t kidding?
Kakashi: I’m sure I’m not
You: Well then, I can’t pass up an offer that will keep me sane. I’m tired of turning to my own self to talk to.
Kakashi: Talk to me everything you’d trust me with!
You: Then it’s a yes!
Kakashi: Welcome to the Hatake household.
You: Thank you.
You reached a good-sized one-story house about 5 minutes later and Kakashi unlocked the door to allow you in.
Kakashi: Your room is over in the left corner. A bathroom is attached to it.
You: Ok, great!
Kakashi: In there will be a computer; it was the one I had before I got the other one I have now. It still works like brand new, though.
You: Wow! In my family only my sister was allowed on the computer.
Kakashi: We can talk about your family later; right now I want you to explore the house.
You: Okay, I can do that.
You went through the house and found your room that you thought was awesome because you hadn’t slept on a real bed since you were seven. You could actually shower instead of bathe in a cold river. And plenty other conveniences fit for you. You came back into the main room and Kakashi was sitting down on the couch in front of you reading a strange book you couldn’t catch the name of.
You: Kakashi! My room is great, I love it! Thank you so much for taking me in.
Kakashi: It’s really no problem. But, about those rules I mentioned earlier.
One, you must be back home by seven thirty unless I say otherwise; if you are late, the consequences could be major. It’s not good when I get worried, there may be ANBU involved but depending on the severity of the situation it may vary, you better hope it’s the ANBU though. If it were me, that wouldn’t be good. Two, keep a respectable reputation for yourself. Never make yourself look bad, because when you’ll try to join something, especially in the Ninja career, you need to have not only good strength and leadership but a good reputation. And three, don’t tell anyone about those three men in the forest. Leave that problem to me.
You: Got it. Back by seven thirty, keep a good rep, and don’t tell about the scary men. I think I can do that!
Kakashi: Great! Also I have frequent missions. Once you hit gennin you do missions until you retire from doing your job as a ninja. Though you never give up the title you have. I’m only in my twenties so I’ve got some ways to go.
You: What level are you Kakashi?
Kakashi: I’m a jounin in the ANBU. Sort of, I’m about to get ready to be a teacher for this year’s gennin.
You: That’s very interesting! Will I have a chance to join these gennins?
Kakashi: Maybe, it’s only a week until gennin graduation. Are you sure you can do the clone jutsu before then?
You: I’m already able to do that. My sister was about four maybe five years older than me; I watched from the sidelines and practiced in secret. I got some things down.
Kakashi: Do you mind telling me about your family?
You: No, I’ll tell you right now that my family hated me and treated me like scum. All because of a selective kekki genkai. Only they call it a curse. Because I turn into this blood-craving monster whenever I see blood. I’m fine with paper cuts. But it gets as serious as nosebleeds. The curse is very sensitive.
Kakashi: What happens during the curse?
You: I’ve been told that I go on a murderous rampage. But I keep it under control to birds and rodents. I’ve never killed a person. I’ll try my hardest not to either. Well, my appearance is the most dramatic change. My hair grows to my waist and it turns pitch black with red streaks coming down from my roots. My nails grow about five inches and my eyes turn a crimson red color. And my skin goes pale as paper. My voice is just scary, it gets deep and raspy and I can’t control my thoughts. I really have a hard time keeping it in. It drains my chakra severely.
Kakashi: Wow, that’s interesting! I’ve never heard of this kekki genkai. Are you sure it’s a kekki genkai?
You: Yeah, my father used to tell me that his grandpa had it and his aunt.
Kakashi: And they shunned you away?
You: Yes, because mine was the most sensitive. And by the time I was born, his grandpa and aunt were dead. So my mother had enough time to brainwash him into thinking I was the most evil child even though I was quiet and shy and did my best to stay out of trouble.
Kakashi: Your mother brainwashed your father?
You: Yes, I’m sure he was a very nice man and that he loved me very much until I was three, but I cannot recall any memories of this.
Kakashi: What happened when you were three?
You: *Nervous laugh. * My sister Keiko was told many stories about the curse. She was about seven or eight when I was three. She was an extremely curious child, always getting into trouble but quickly forgiven. Probably explains why she’s so bright. Anyways, she decided to take fathers kunai and slice open a long cut on her leg. She got a very evil grin on her face and fell to the floor and screamed bloody murder, blaming her cut on me. Though I could not really pay much attention, I blacked out and started to transform. I forgot to mention that too. I can’t remember a lot during this change. But all I remember is my dad restraining me and the look on Keiko’s face was priceless. But after that I can’t remember anything. I was told that they were having a hard time restraining me. It scared me when they told me about the curse. I mean, come on, I was three learning about something that scares me even to this day! I was horrified.
Kakashi: You have quite some past, young lady.
You: Yeah, I know. I have one lifetime already.
Kakashi: You basically were robbed of your child hood.
You: Yep, that about sums it up.
Kakashi: Hey, are you hungry?
You: Starving!
Kakashi: Okay, I’ll try to make something.
You: Try? Kakashi, can you cook?
Kakashi: Uh, maybe by some stroke of luck, I won’t burn anything tonight.
You: Nice.
You were woken up to a shaking, you held up your head and saw a silver haired young man in his early 20’s with a mask and head band covering all of his face except his right eye. You jumped up and backed into a tree.
