~Chapter Four~
She whimpered as she lay against the tree and started to cry, "Please, Emori, I need you." The wind blew, her golden brown hair covering her face as she curled up into a ball. The next thing she knew, she was sitting in a comfy chair next to a warm, cosy fire. Mitsuki relaxed for a second, going into a deep sleep, before she realised that Emori was standing next to her. "I don't have to do this, you know," he said plainly, walking into the kitchen to make a cup of coffee.

"So then why am I here?" Mitsuki asked, obviously getting her edge back.

"Clearly, you wouldn't stop your sobbing and screaming until I came for you, so here I am."
Mitsuki rolled her eyes and got up, marched straight into the kitchen, grabbed Emori's shirt and shouted, "You know something, don't you?" He didn't answer, his gaze keeping away from her eyes. "Tell me!"

Emori pushed her onto the floor, pinning her down. "Listen to me carefully, because I'm only going to say this once."

"What?" She was not afraid of him. He was too nice to kill her. Or maybe it was just all an act...

"Once you're finished with this 'protection' stuff, go away and never come back unless with good reason," his eyes narrowed, staring directly into hers.

"Sure. I got it. Now stop being an annoying git and let me up!"

Emori smirked down at Mitsuki before helping her up. She sighed, fixed her clothes and sat on the tabletop. Emori handed her some coffee, amd she inspected it before drinking.

"I get the feeling that you don't trust me," he said, yawning.

"Nah," Mitsuki replied sarcastically.

About two hours later, Emori and Mitsuki left the house, and sat on a nearby beach, with golden sand and icy blue waters. It looked absolutley beautiful, like a lucid dream, only better. The sun was beating down on their backs as they sat in the sand together. "There must be a reason that you came when you did last night - wow I still can't believe it was last night, it feels so long ago..."

"Actually, your rambling aside, I did have a reason," Emori closed his eyes, "My Mom and Dad used to be in this special organisation - before they died..."

"I'm sorry," Mitsuki said, and put one hand on his shoulder.

He brushed her hand away, "The organisation they were in specialised in assasinating certain people, people whom they believed could bring good to this world, me and you included. When-"

Mitsuki interrupted him, "Wait a second, I can't bring that much good to this world, not like a life-changing thing anyway, although I think that you could bring a difference."

"Yeah- as I was saying, when I was about ten the organisation planted their eyes on me - I was going to be the next to die - and my parents got the job to kill me themselves. At the time, I was helping them to kill others, and a was damn good at it. I had no idea that I was on the list," he hesitated before continuing, "It was early morning when they walked into my room. I didn't actually know it was them, because everything was hazy, and they were in disguise - I, I killed them without knowing. I found out two days later when I had the guts to take off their masks. I only came when I did to protect you. I have to find all of the remaining victims so that we can all protect eachother - especially now that I've got no family."

The sun was setting, and a tear streamed down Mitsuki's cheek, "I really miss my sister, and it relieves me knowing that someone who has gone through just about the same pain and lonliness has found me, and somehow made me feel better," she smiled at him before lying down and falling asleep on the beach.

Next time:
