It was a hot outside that day when Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and Hinata decided to take a trip into the forest of death. They were assigned by Kakashi himself to monitor the current chunnin exams. It was simple mission really, mostly to keep an eye out for Orochimaru incase he hadn't truly changed his ways. The forest was just as they remembered, big, lush, full of wildlife, I brought up feelings of nostalgia for them. Naruto stoped to point at a tree, and laughed.
"Hey Sasuke, remember this spot, this is the spot that Orochimaru guy attacked us at, and I saved you!" Naruto said, boasting about his heroics.
Sasuke glanced at the tree. He did remember but not the way Naruto explained it. " I recall you hanging from that tree by a kunai, knocked out. So weak" Sasuke said in a calm and collected manner, as if he was indifferent to the situation. When Sasuke behaved that way it really made Naruto's blood boil. Sakura giggled and Hinata frowned a bit. She didn't like the way Sasuke talked to Naruto. Naruto was always strong, ever since she knew him she could see it and she would not stand for it.
"Sa.....Sasuke-san! Naruto-kun isn't weak, he was the always strongest." Hinata cried with her fist clenched, as she overcame her timid nature to tell Sasuke how she felt. Naruto and Sakura was quite surprised by her outburst. Naruto smiled, he wasn't used to people defending his honor, Hinata really cared about him. That sensation made him feel good inside. Sasuke turn her head in Hinata direction, as he was ahead of her, and nonchalantly asked, "Im sorry, did you say something? I didn't notice you there at all."
Naruto frowned, he didn't care what Sasuke said about him, but he wouldn't let him treat Hinata that way. " Sasuke! you *******!" Naruto said as he clenched his fist getting ready to punch Sasuke. "Naruto!!! Calm down! " Sakura said punching Naruto into a tree. " I've had it! It's best we split up." Sakura walke over next to Sasuke. " Sasuke-kun and I will examine the northern section....while you two will take the southern." Sakura said in a stern voice. "Sakura, one thing..." Hianta said in a quiet voice. Sakura raised her eye brows to see what Hinata had to say. "What is it Hianta?" Hinata demeanor turned cold and almost grim, "Touch Naruto-kun again...and I'll stop you, even if it cost me my life!" Hinata said activating her byakugan. Sakura and Naruto eyes widened, they never seen this side of Hianta....atleast not in this reality. Naruto laughed nervously and said he was used to it trying to reassure Hinata that he didn't mind when Sakura punched him, he deserved it at time.
Sakura smiled, she was proud of Hinata for standing up for herself, but Hinata had no idea who she was dealing with. Sakura used the body flicker technique and instantly appeared next to Hinata as if she teleported. Hinata was surprised at the speed in which Sakura appeared beside her, The level of her Sakura control was so fast and precise that not even her byakugan could read it in time. Even Sasuke was impressed, she hadn't seen such skill with that jutsu, since Shishu" I know you love Naruto and all, Hinata. But who do you think you're talking to" Sakura said in a dark and cold voice, similar to Tsunade's. Sakura then put on a fake smile, "You should not by now not to play around with me Hinata...or you'll be sorry." Sakura said release a little of her chakra into the ground causing a 60 ft area around her to crack, this extended to the tree's and rocks on the ground too, almost like a mini earthquake. Naruto eye widen and he hurried and moved in between the two, Sakura was scarier than Tsunade when she got like that, and he never seen this side of Hinata either. " Hey, hey, we are all friends-ttybayo." Naruto said smiling.
Sakura walked by towards Sasuke and waved her hand through the air, as she was over the situation. Sasuke smirked, he was really impressed at the damage Sakura caused by raw chakra alone. He hadn't seen something like that since the first hokage was summoned. "We should get moving, Sasuke-kun." Sakura said when she reached Sasuke. Hinata wasn't done, she would not let Sakura walk away as if nothing happened. The way she carelessly walked away made Hinata's blood boil, she knew she let this go, images of Sakura's long hair swaying side to side as she brushing her off would haunt her. " No, we must do this, here and now! Lets settle this, I will not be taken light off, I will never back down from a challenge, to defend Naruto-kun, because that's my nindo, my ninja way!" Hinata said determine. "Fight me, Sakura!" Hinata words hit Sakura, she remembered the chunnin exams, how she needed to fight Ino to gain a peace of mind.
Sakura smiled, "You wanna fight me? Fine, but I will not hold back because your a princess to the leaf's strongest, the Hyugga." Sakura said taughting Hinata, while trying to boost her confidence. Naruto smiled he knew what Sakura was doing, and he appreciated it. Sasuke understood it too, him and Naruto was the same way. Naruto and Sasuke stood beside each other, " To think , they would in end fighting." Naruto said feeling nostalgic, Sasuke smirked, "Hmp. the shouldn't do it here, look at the damage one my Sakura's chakra...fighting her would be a danger to the genin. How about we move this..." Sasuke said thinking of a place. "I was thinking the same thing." Naruto said.
Sasuke picked up Sakura and Naruto picked up Hianta and they ran to the Valley of the end, in a couple of minute.
The girls were surpised, but understood.
"This should be a good match, Hinata is strong." Naruto said, proudly. Sasuke knew that Sakura was superior, even though he normally favors one with ocular prowess over a strong body, he knew that Sakura was a different case. She was smart, destructive, and observant. She is not the type a close ranged fighter would want to engage. They both knew it, moving Sakura to a body of water did give Hinata less of a chance to get hit by derby.
"Lets do this." Sakura said putting on her gloves. Hinata activated her byakugan once again and said, "I wont lose to you!"
