Chapter 699

I've re-read this chapter, and I must say it is top notch, a perfect ending (that's the ending for me, not 700). Do you think that a Sasuke POV would have been more useful throughout the manga? Or was this the perfect moment to include and to conclued the series with his POV?

Best ending was Sasuke saying “I Quit” to Naruto and its now set in stone and its Manga Fact for ever. It can’t be change.

It would have been nice to get more Sasuke POV throughout the manga. Much of Sasuke's character development felt forced or inconsistent, and would be explained through vague or unsatisfactory means (Itachi / Uchiha massacre flashbacks, I'm looking at you!). The problem caused by all these rapid fire changes, coupled with the lack of POV, is that it's hard to get a sense of who Sasuke truly is. And of course, Sasuke is endlessly repressing many of his feelings / beliefs in order to live up to his current ideals or to focus on his current goals.

We get a lot of understanding about who Sasuke is in relation to Naruto; most often, Sasuke is the equal and opposite force. Both of them seek to grasp the "truth" of the ninja world, and come up with answers regarding how to solve the seemingly irreconcilable problems their society faces. However, the focus of the story is almost always on Naruto; it isn't until Naruto and Sasuke are finally able to come to an understanding that we are allowed to understand Sasuke. And, because this only happens in the final chapter of the series, that means that we only really get one chapter's worth of insight into Sasuke's perspective.

I agree that 699 feels like the true end of the story. However, the fact that the reader never knew Sasuke's thoughts/feelings supported the main conflict and gave Sasuke's character an aura of mystery.

As much as I like Chapter 699, it would of been better without cheap romance and I really dislike the Naruto vs Sasuke fight. That was not done right at all.

How did you want the fight to go down?

More abilities, more powers, more emotion, less flash backs, more blood, dramatics, Naruto/Sasuke going insane like Madara/Hashirama, etc.,

The fight was so boring imo. It was interesting when their powers turned off..

Yup more abilities should have been shown, less flashbacks. I guess the blood was okay. And yes it wasn't as dramatic as part 1, but it was okay imo. The fight could have been better if Kishi wasn't rushed by WSJ or used much flashbacks.
I'm glad we were able to get a fight since it's been hyped up for a while. I thought kishi forgot about this fight, so I'm glad we got something. After all something is better than nothing.

I'm sure that SP will do this fight some justice

hmmm i think 699 would be nice as shippuden ending OR mian plot ending but i do feel it was a nice way to end it as naruto became hokage =)
