This chapter has left us with what could possibly the biggest cliffhanger, What is going to happen now that Kaguya is sealed?
Well, there are many and many routes this series can take, and I'm gonna break down a few of those to you guys.
These are the possible plot twists that may happen from chapter 691 and above !
Orochimaru's Goal: No one really know what his true intentions are. Ever since he summoned the 4 Hokage, the only thing he said is that he's following what Sasuke is doing, and that nothing good would come from his previous motives. So I'm guessing he would either turn bad and troll everyone or stay the way he is.
Sasuke's Goal: Just like Orochimaru, Sasuke's motives are not known at all, he could turn bad at any moment or stay the way he is. Either way, He is still considered a Rogue Ninja even though he helped seal Kaguya and finish the war. Only thing we know about him is that he wanna be a Hokage. So it's all under the hands of Kishimoto to decide who Sasuke is gonna end being.
Hagoromo Ôtsutsuki: During chapter 690, Hagoromo seemed kinda suspicious, the way he acted when Sasuke and Naruto finally sealed Kaguya, his facial expressions were somehow odd. I became even more cynical by the end of the chapter when he said "Thank you for saving the world", seems to me as if he used Sasuke and Naruto to seal his true enemy, Kaguya. So I'm guessing, final villain ? maybe ? but there's a very low chance it could happen.
Uchiha Madara: Madara is back ! but I don't think he's really back :| . I think he lost all his prowess or he's weaker than ever, as there's no Hashirama Senjutsu on his torso. Either they're gonna take him into custody, or he is still gonna somehow fight back, but someone will finish him off quickly. There's a very low possibility he could be a villain once more, or a final villain for that matter.
I think the war arc is gonna wrap up in 3-4 chapters max, then we're gonna proceed into the final arc. Today's chapter was a confirmation that the manga will end at chapter 700+, and I'm guessing that the new movie will include the final Sasuke vs Naruto fight, or it would be an epilogue to the series and that the manga will officially wrap.
