They should have let GAI die, now naruto pulls some whack ass thing to save him.
I pity kishimoto for his incompetence to show his skills, he should at least have killed GAI for his retribution and what was all those flashbacks about.

I was confused by that, he revived Gai? I thought the "poof" (or "pof") signified Gai's heart going out.

Yeah it's pretty wack to have Gai live after all this build up. But that's the problem with the MC, Kishi wants Naruto to be the biggest hero so he's pretty much gotta save everyone even when the person should die. It's nonsense and really redundant.

those markings were bijuus chakra(super little) and his fully perfected sage mode, he doesn't even have those markings which means that he has mastered the sage mode more than any human(including hashirama), only sage chakra works on the balls so him using frog kata is pretty normal. the markings i think mean that naruto has unlocked the full power of uzumaki and sasuke the full power of uchiha.(like the two sons)

You guys aren't getting in.Kishimoto was gonna have Gai die, but Naruto's so op rn that he can revive ppl at the wave of a hand and naruto isn't the kind of person to let one of his comrades die. He's broken free of Kishimoto's bindings and working on his own terms now. That's why Gai is alive. SO stop your god damn ****ing whining

In this Image notice what Madara said. Gai's body was becoming ashes. So in a way Madara killing him was an act of mercy on madara's part,a mercy that a warrior or soldier show to other warrior or soldier to ease his pain. By not killing gai,kishimoto took a more cruel turn,in my opinion,with more sadness.

I am pretty sure that he is definitely gonna become paralyzed and won't be a shinobi anymore,like what was about to happen to Lee in part 1. For someone like Gai it's more sad to live a life knowing he won't be a shinobi anymore,than dying.

I also actually like the fact that kishi neither nurfed nor took away the slightest of risk of using 8 gates. He saved gai in a more reasonable way. And I actually liked it.
