I might be walking in the dark here but it's no secret that either Obito/Madara will betray each other at some point. They both seem to have different agendas when it comes to the "Moon Eye" plan.

Either way, let me throw this out...

what if the "infinite tsukuyomi" doesn't even exist?

Madaras overall plan was to collect all Bijuus, revive the 10Tails, become the host of it and be greater than the Sage of six paths?

IMO that would be "trolling" on kishis part but also one fcked up twist in a sense.

Let me know what you think about it.

CHAPTER: 611:

The 10 Tails gets attacked by the 8Tails that was Kamui'ed by Kakashi, The 10Tails uses a Rinnegan Barrier that deflects the attack and sends them flying.
Obito can't wait any longer and starts preparing the I.T. (doing handsigns/storing chakra ..etc). Obito notices that it takes way too long and nothing happens-


Obito:" Madara i'll have to start now.."
Madara:" Do what you want"

-Obito prepares I.T.-

Madara:" *Obitos 10Tails isn't complete.. i have to change that..*"
Kurama:" We have to stop Obito first or we are done for!"
Kakashi": Damnit!.."
Gai:"Sh*t.. *pant*"
Bee:"Our prioritys that goon or the worlds gone too soon~"
Naruto"I got this!"

-Naruto charges at Obito but Madara appears in front of him-

Kakashi": No wait!"
Kurama":You idiot..!"
Naruto:"Wha...!?"
Madara:" You're not bad at handling the 9Tails but.. i'm gonna take care of it now."
Obito:" Madara.. why is it taking so long?"
Madara:"Don't worry".

-Naruto is about to get attacked by Madara but Naruto get's saved by Kakashis Kamui. Madara goes for Kakashi-

Madara:" A non Uchiha using the Sharingan like that? Quite the talent here".
Kakashi:"*..! ..this is how the first Hokage must have felt..*".
Obito:" We don't have much time.. why isn't it working?.."
Madara:"Who knows.. Obito, who knows.."
Obito:" What's going on here!?"
Madara:"*sigh* ".

- Bee/8Tails and Kurama are trying to attack Obito from the back but the 10Tails blocks that attack while Kakashi Kamuis Naruto in front of him and Obito gets attacked by Naruto-

Obito:" Nhg!.."
Madara:" ..."
Bee/8Tails:" Why isn't Madara helping him?..
Kurama:" Somethings weird here.."
Kakashi:" Obito.."
Bee:" Naruto! Watch out Madaras coming!"
Obito:" MADARA!!!" ..WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!!?"

-Madara stops, looks at Obito-

Madara:" You're still a kid aren't you?"
Kakashi:" ..."
Naruto" ...?"
Madara:" You believed everything i said? A world with peace? Don't make me laugh.. that doesn't exist nor does the infinite tsukuyomi.."
Obito:" What?.. you...no...this isn't true..*Flashback*..Rin...
Obito:" ..you saved me back then.. *no.. this can't be true..!
Madara:" Indeed. It was all to for this moment here, reviving the 10 Tails, be it's host and become even greater than the Sage of six Paths himself!
Naruto & Co: What! The SO6P? This was his plan..?
Obito:".. but Rin.. i'm sorry.., Kakashi!! Don't come in my way!! No one of you!!!

-Obito goes for Madara-

Kakashi:"What are you doing!?"
Madara:"I see.. is this an attempt to kill me.., Obito?
Obito:" ... kill you?... no something worse.. i will show you... HELL!

Kishi shows a little dialogue that has madara uchiha and Obito have a difference of opinion and now everyone is thinking they'll betray one another. I would have believed this, too, had this been 2008. However, Kishi has nothing to fear now that he is prolonging the ending to, at the very least, the week before Dec 21st. He'll do what he truly wants, and i'm sure he won't pull a terrible PIS on madara and obito.

Yeah, that is more-or-less how I see the story of Obito play out. It has seemed like Madara and Obito have had separate agendas ever since Madara was resurrected.

I don't think that anybody can predict that this is the final arc of the story until we, at least, find out what's going on with Orochimaru and Sasuke. There are also just too many mysteries left out of the story. My guess is that we'll know the entire history of the Shinobi world by the time we get to the final arc. We don't know the much at all about the Uzumaki. We know 100x more about the Uchiha than we do about the Senju, most of which we do know was told by Uchiha clan members who primarily know them as adversaries. We know absolutely nothing about Minato's heritage.
