The 'father' of Shin looked like Shisui to me. The nose is very similar. For a second I thought Jugo (they have similar nose styles), but the guy is way too short for that, so I think it's Shisui.

Also, Karin is obviously not the hooded figure, at least that makes one less possibility.

I honestly don't know. She wants him to eat the food for her own personal reason. That she is going to track him is the only logical explanation. Naruto had sage mode active because he already sensed her outside his door. After collecting the food, he is probably going to send them home. In which case he wouldn't need sage mode anymore would he? So she can track him without plot problems.

Naruto creating a clone to escort them back while he continues to Sasuke sounds about the reasonable route here like you said I guess.

A clone is enough to fodderize the kid again if he continues to chase them.
