Adam and Steve sat on the couch drinking soda and talking about what had happened today. The girls had fallen asleep in their beds.
“I am worried about Alex Adam. I am worried that she will end up…” paused Steve.
“Don’t worry. We will protect her. Remember there has to be at least one guy out there that is willing to help her.” Said Adam. He took a sip of his soda as they sat there quietly thinking. Alex on the other hand was dreaming about chase once more.
“January 23rd is the day I will become a singer.” Said 15 year old Alex. She looked at her brothers Adam and Steve.
“You will someday sis.” Smiled 18 year old Adam. He ruffled up her hair when Steve picked Alex up.
“Don’t hurt her you fool. She is our little sister not a dog.” Said 17 year old Steve. He held Alex in his arms and smiled at Adam. They all laughed together and started walking again. They walked to the post office to pick up a package that Alex had won during a music video contest. She sang a song she created called, “My path alone.” Getting there, Adam had signed off on the papers as Steve handed Alex the package. Opening the package carefully in the post office, Alex knew what was inside the box. Within the parcel was A T shirt that had chase the legendary on it, three back stage passes, three tickets, and an official signed cd cast with her music video inside it. Alex smiled and looked at her brothers.
“We will go. But first we have to finish the other errands or else we don’t.” Said Steve. Alex nodded and they left. After three hours of doing errands, they had stopped at the Ice cream shop.
“Coffee please.” Said Alex
“Cookies and cream” said Steve
“Rocky Road fudge” said Adam. They all walked out with their ice creams and chatted. Looking at the time, Alex saw that it was only two hours before the concert started. She put the shirt on and handed her brothers their tickets and passes. She was excited because the contest wasn’t just to win the stuff but get a chance to sing with chase. She ran there with her brothers following. Suddenly not realizing it, Alex had run into a fan club group and knocked their leader over.
“Watch where you are goi- where did you get that shirt?” she growled as she stared at Alex’s shirt.
“I won it…” Alex whispered scared of what might happen. The girl forcibly grabbed her arm.
“You don’t deserve that shirt; you don’t deserve to sing with him.” She growled looking at Alex closely. Alex was scared of the next thing. Her brothers managed to grab the girl but she suddenly shoved Alex into the street.
“Alex!” yelled both Adam and Steve. Alex: screamed as an oncoming car came straight at her. She placed her arms on her head to brace the impact but suddenly felt arms around her move. She opened her eyes and saw that someone had pulled her out of the way.
“Thanks….” She stopped in mid talk. Staring at the guy who saved her. The one and only legendary Chase. He laid there then glanced at her.
“Heh you ok there girl?” he smiled.
“Y-yea…” she blushed. She turned and saw her brothers run over. They hugged Alex worried and thanking the guy for saving her.
“Thanks man…you saved our sister. Dude isn’t you…?” before Steve could finish, the fans screamed.
“Chase!” as they all said running towards us four.
“Run!” yelled Alex as she got up and ran with the others. They were being chased by all the fans. Running backstage was one thing but hiding under a table backstage was another. The guards had stopped the fans from going any further and soon chase climbed out.
“That was fun.” He said. Looking at Adam, Steve and Alex who slowly came out from under the table soon sighed.
“Strange that t shirt looked like the one I sent to the winner.” Questioned chased. He stared at Alex and then it popped in his head. Alex was the winner of the contest. She was the one and chase smiled.
“My winner is here already? This works. You know your singing was beautiful. You played your own song…what was the name again?” he thought about it.
“My path alone.” She answered worried. She hid behind her brothers scared that the fans might get her once more. Adam wrapped his arm around Alex comforting her letting her know that she wasn’t going to get hurt again. Chase stared at her cautiously and smiled.
“You are sure a strange one though.” He mentioned. Alex looked at him.
“I mean, come on your music video was showing that you weren’t scared of what you can do. Now you look like a scared cat.” Laughed chase. Knowing that he was a singer, Alex didn’t take the joke kindly. She punched him in the arm and glared at him. He looked at her amazed. Hearing his name being called up to the stage, he gently patted her on the head. He took his microphone head set with him. Entering the stage was thousands of screams. Alex watched from the side line of the stage as he talked to his fans. As she listened to the music, a gently tap on her shoulder touched. Turning her head to the co-manager, he motioned his head towards a dressing room. As she followed she felt like she was being stared at. She stepped ever so quietly into the room and was told to change into something suitable. Alex didn’t know she had to change. She glanced at all the clothing for her to choose from. She didn’t know what to put on. Seeing that they were all dresses and things, she felt uncomfortable. A slight knock appeared on the door, opening it to which it was her brothers. They pulled in a new set of clothing and they were something that she could wear. Changing into the outfit she picked chased smiled at his fans.
“Ok everyone. You know me and you love me but guess what. One of you lucky people had entered my contest and won the prizes. She is here today to sing with us all. Knowing that you all probably aren’t too happy please give a warm welcome to her.” He turned his hand to the east wing where she stepped out into the spot light. Wearing jeans, white T shirt, a black and red tie with fingerless gloves and hair pulled back stood Alex. Everyone was silent to the fact of her choice in clothing. Chase stared at her amazingly enough that he forgot his microphone was on whispering the words beautiful. The crowd all began to chant for the girl to sing. Chase walked over to her and took the microphone from her hand. He gently took of his and placed it on for her.
“Good luck.” He whispered to her as he walked off stage to her brothers. Alex Stared at the crowd that was in front of her. She look like she froze up but then a musician began to play a guitar, along with the drums and piano. Alex began to tap her foot to the beat and then began to sing. Her voice was gently but enough to fill the room. Dancing around the stage and with the musicians, she became herself like she was in the video. Chase stared in amazement that a girl who looks scared can actually be a singer. Alex walked towards the crowd.
“Wow she’s amazing…” said chase
“She is, isn’t she?” smiled Adam.
“She sang since she was 6. She loves music with her heart and has fun with it.” Said Steve Chase watched Alex and it seemed like nothing mattered to him anymore. Alex slid her hands across the people who were holding out their hands. One hand though grabbed it tightly. Alex looked and saw that it was the fan club’s leader. Trying to pull her hand away, Alex pulled with all her force. Letting go of her hand, Alex lost her footing. Adam and Steve leaned forward to go at her but someone had beaten them to her. Catching Alex in his arms he smiled.
“Your amazing.” He said as everyone was quiet. Alex stood there stunned that chase had not only saved her once, but twice in one day. Chase smiled and put on another headset.
“How about we give this little lady an applause, shall we?” asked chase who began clapping. The audience began to cheer with excitement with the fact that she sang. Chase smiled.
“How about one more song, Together?” Asked chase who held out his hand to her. The musicians began to play at a fast and steady beat. Alex knew the song by heart because it was her favorite one to run around the house singing and acting out. Chase sang as Alex soon joined in. They moved together like they were mirroring one another. They smiled as Adam and Steve watched. Chase finished the song off as the crowd cheered, screaming and chanting the two. Walking off stage, Alex was handed a glass of ice. Chase took a drink of water and watched as Alex chewed on a piece of ice.
“How would you like to become a singer?” asked chase. To the sudden question, Alex had swallowed the ice the wrong way and began to cough.
“I would love to become one but I don’t know where to start.” Alex said. She continued to cough as Steve handed her a glass of water.
“Well how about I start with you.” Said chase who smiled.
“…What?!” Alex exclaimed. Shocked to the matter of where this is all going, she had fallen to her knees. The guys fell with her to make sure she was ok. Alex cried with happiness and mumbled something.
“Alex told us in the morning before coming here that she will become a singer on January 23rd. You’re making her wish come true.” Said Steve. He looked at chase and smiled. Adam chuckled as chase patted Alex on the head and Steve did that same thing. She smiled as knowing that her dream of singing will come true. She looked at chase happily and suddenly it hit her. What was this feeling that was making her feel weird around chase? She became worried and stood up. Looking at chase then walked over to the backstage door.
“Wait Alex don’t!” yelled the co-manager, chasse and her brothers. It was too late; Alex opened the door and was pulled into the swarm of cameras, fans, reports and paparazzi. Looking around, her brothers showed up and covered Alex. Steve gently picked up Alex and they got out of the crowd. Closing the door behind them, Alex looks like she was a ghost.
“That’s why I don’t go out that way.” Said chase. He looked at Alex and sighed. She was quiet for a brief moment when suddenly she jumped and scared the others.
“Dude that was cool and crazy. Is that what you go through? Dang and I thought my life was hard.” Said Alex, “Doing chores, working and caring for each other may seem easy to us but it’s worse for him.”
“Heh.” Chase smiled. He pulled Alex onto the stage and looked at the crowd, “Ladies and gentlemen, I would like you to meet the girl who sang for us all, Alex! She may seem like a girl who would be a huge fan but to me she seems like a great person to be.” Alex stared at him curiously. Chase smiled at Alex and hugged her gently as cameras began to take pictures. Soon chase leaned his forehead against hers and whispered something then kissed her on the lips. Alex stood there for a second and then kissed him back. Over the head lines of newspapers, magazines, post boards and news; was the kiss of a life time. Alex and chase began dating that night. Girls and guys watched the news as they brought up the story.
“In other news, the teen sensation Chase also known as the legendary has a new thing. He has a girl that happened to be the contest winner as well. John jay what do you think about that?” rich asked. He turned his head to him curiously.
“Well rich, chase may be dating but his girl isn’t use to the new ideal of being famous. If you look at this video that was recorded, Alex came out of chase’s house to get the mail when swarmed by the paparazzi. Her brothers and chase had to run out and get her. Chase has also made it aware that the paparazzi need to leave Alex alone.” Said john jay.
“Also rumor has it that Alex is forbidden on leaving the house even with her brothers and chase. She is purposively hiding in her room. As the word spreads out, will this teen love be handled with care or will it shatter like a glass vase?” said rich as they signed off to a commercial. Chase knocked on her door quietly then entered it.
“Alex, you ok?” he asked looking around for Alex. Spotting her by the window he walked over and sat down. Alex hadn’t left her room for two weeks because of the surprise attacks from the paparazzi. He wrapped his arm around her waist pulling close as she laid her head against his chest.
“I’ll be ok…just tired.” Alex whispered. She had not eaten for an entire week for the matter of that food was always left her bed side but was never touched. Chase was worried about what this life was doing to her. Alex was still practicing her songs but it never had that feeling. Chase held her gently petting her head, glancing out the window he saw the sun.
“How about we go on the roof? The sun may do you some good.” Chase offered. He waited for a response but soon felt something was wrong. He felt Alex’s forehead as she was running a high fever. Chase picked her up yelling for Adam and Steve.
“Help! Someone I need help!” yelled chase as he ran out of the room holding alex. Adam and steve came running out of the kitchen to chase.
“What happened?” said steve. Adam began to check alex.
“I don’t know!” panicked chase.
“Get in the car.” Demanded adam as he grabbed the keys. Opening the door was the paparazzi who began to take photos. Chase moved past the paparazzi as they got to the car.
“I’ll call the hospital” said steve who was already on his phone. Siting in the car, chase held Alex tightly in his arms as they were beginning to move. Adam pulled the car out of the drive way and headed straight for the hospital. Alex was breathing heavily and looked like she was in pain.
“Chase try and get her to drink this, she needs something in her system.” Said Adam who handed a bottle of water back to chase. Tilting alex’s head back he tried to get her to drink it but it wasn’t working. Worried, he quickly made a choice and put some of the water in his mouth. Locking lips with Alex the next second pushing the water down her throat. He had done this about three times before they got to the hospital. As they drove up the Emergency doors to the hospital, there waited a doctor and nurses with a gurney. They helped move Alex and they checked her pulse.
“I’ll need an I.V. drip, quickly.” Demanded the doctor as they began to move. A nurse made chase, Adam and Steve stop and escorted them to a lounge where they had to wait. After three hours, the doctor came in.
“How is she?” asked all three of them as they stood rather quickly.
“She’ll be alright. Judging by who you are, it may have been stress. She had not eaten in a few days, didn’t have anything to drink and was locked up inside her room. She’ll needs to stay overnight but I suggest that you let the law know. You may see her now.” Said the doctor. Adam and Steve walked in and looked at Alex who was messing with the cord to her I.V. They hugged her as chase walked in. He looked like he wanted to cry. Running over he hugged her and kissed her on the forehead.
“I am so sorry Alex…” whispered chase.
“I’ll be ok chase. I’ll be ok.” She giggled a bit. They sat there talking for a good 45 minutes before Alex had fallen asleep in chase’s arms that also fell asleep. Adam and Steve had asked if they all could stay with Alex for the night. Knowing it wasn’t going to be easy, the doctors allowed it because of the situation at hand.
“You ready to leave?” said chase. It has been 6 months sine the incident. Alex had recovered and had soon gotten use to the paparazzi. She looked chase smiling after going to a party that they were invited to by Usher. Leaving the party they soon had gotten to the point of almost being late getting home. She got in the car and took of the dress shoes that tied around her legs. She put her feet up on the dashboard and texted adam and steve that they were coming home.
“Letting them know?” smirked chase. He buckled himself in and sat there. Alex nodded and put her belt on as well. He started the car as they began to drive. Alex turned up the volume on the radio as chase rolled down his window. She sang to a song that soon had chase smiling. Alex laughed as they began to goof around. Chase began to cross his street when he glanced at alex. Her face went plain white as he had seen. Turning his head he saw a bright light knowing what was coming at them. As the collision happened, chase had moved quickly letting go of the wheel. After many turning, rolling and a sudden hard hit to the ground the car stopped moving. Alex opened her eyes and rubbed her head. A cut was left across her forehead as was a loud ringing in her ears. Turning her head, her eyes widen to chase’s body. A large metal rod had pierced through his gut as blood ran out of his mouth. Chase turned to alex as he eyes were beginning to glaze over. As he turned, placing a hand on her cheek she began to cry.
“Don’t…cry” whispered chase. “Listen to me…carefully.”
“I have…have to get…you out!” said Alex. She started to move but couldn’t et her seat belt to unbuckle.
“Stop,” growled chase, “Just listen. I love tyou with all my heart. You know that even now. Alex don’t…don’t close your heart because of me. I want you to continue to play with all your love. Know this, I love you forever and for always. No matter the partings always know music is your life but without the heart of another there will be no beat.” His hand slid down her face as so did his body. Alex began to cry and scream. Next thing she knows, her brothers are leaning over her yelling her name. Snapping her eyes open alex took a deep breath and looked at them.

“Help! Someone I need help!” yelled chase as he ran out of the room holding alex. Adam and steve came running out of the kitchen to chase.
“What happened?” said steve. Adam began to check alex.
“I don’t know!” panicked chase.
“Get in the car.” Demanded adam as he grabbed the keys. Opening the door was the paparazzi who began to take photos. Chase moved past the paparazzi as they got to the car.
“I’ll call the hospital” said steve who was already on his phone. Siting in the car, chase held Alex tightly in his arms as they were beginning to move. Adam pulled the car out of the drive way and headed straight for the hospital. Alex was breathing heavily and looked like she was in pain.
“Chase try and get her to drink this, she needs something in her system.” Said Adam who handed a bottle of water back to chase. Tilting alex’s head back he tried to get her to drink it but it wasn’t working. Worried, he quickly made a choice and put some of the water in his mouth. Locking lips with Alex the next second pushing the water down her throat. He had done this about three times before they got to the hospital. As they drove up the Emergency doors to the hospital, there waited a doctor and nurses with a gurney. They helped move Alex and they checked her pulse.
“I’ll need an I.V. drip, quickly.” Demanded the doctor as they began to move. A nurse made chase, Adam and Steve stop and escorted them to a lounge where they had to wait. After three hours, the doctor came in.
“How is she?” asked all three of them as they stood rather quickly.
“She’ll be alright. Judging by who you are, it may have been stress. She had not eaten in a few days, didn’t have anything to drink and was locked up inside her room. She’ll needs to stay overnight but I suggest that you let the law know. You may see her now.” Said the doctor. Adam and Steve walked in and looked at Alex who was messing with the cord to her I.V. They hugged her as chase walked in. He looked like he wanted to cry. Running over he hugged her and kissed her on the forehead.
“I am so sorry Alex…” whispered chase.
“I’ll be ok chase. I’ll be ok.” She giggled a bit. They sat there talking for a good 45 minutes before Alex had fallen asleep in chase’s arms that also fell asleep. Adam and Steve had asked if they all could stay with Alex for the night. Knowing it wasn’t going to be easy, the doctors allowed it because of the situation at hand.
“You ready to leave?” said chase. It has been 6 months sine the incident. Alex had recovered and had soon gotten use to the paparazzi. She looked chase smiling after going to a party that they were invited to by Usher. Leaving the party they soon had gotten to the point of almost being late getting home. She got in the car and took of the dress shoes that tied around her legs. She put her feet up on the dashboard and texted adam and steve that they were coming home.
“Letting them know?” smirked chase. He buckled himself in and sat there. Alex nodded and put her belt on as well. He started the car as they began to drive. Alex turned up the volume on the radio as chase rolled down his window. She sang to a song that soon had chase smiling. Alex laughed as they began to goof around. Chase began to cross his street when he glanced at alex. Her face went plain white as he had seen. Turning his head he saw a bright light knowing what was coming at them. As the collision happened, chase had moved quickly letting go of the wheel. After many turning, rolling and a sudden hard hit to the ground the car stopped moving. Alex opened her eyes and rubbed her head. A cut was left across her forehead as was a loud ringing in her ears. Turning her head, her eyes widen to chase’s body. A large metal rod had pierced through his gut as blood ran out of his mouth. Chase turned to alex as he eyes were beginning to glaze over. As he turned, placing a hand on her cheek she began to cry.
“Don’t…cry” whispered chase. “Listen to me…carefully.”
“I have…have to get…you out!” said Alex. She started to move but couldn’t et her seat belt to unbuckle.
“Stop,” growled chase, “Just listen. I love tyou with all my heart. You know that even now. Alex don’t…don’t close your heart because of me. I want you to continue to play with all your love. Know this, I love you forever and for always. No matter the partings always know music is your life but without the heart of another there will be no beat.” His hand slid down her face as so did his body. Alex began to cry and scream. Next thing she knows, her brothers are leaning over her yelling her name. Snapping her eyes open alex took a deep breath and looked at them.
