Chakra natures

So i was looking at chakra natures advantages/disadvantages and was wondering where kishi came up with the concept. According to pokemon, earth>lightning, but kishi has it the other way around. Does anyone know where kishi got the idea for the chakra types? He probably based it on some japanese folklore/culture because he rarely just pulls stuff out of his ass

Lightning = water in Naruto
Wind isn't stronger than lightning, the principle of lightning is electrical energy tearing the nearby air apart, creating thunder lol it's the opposite in Naruto
Also Earth>lightning irl while it's the opposite in Naruto

Chakra natures in Naruto are diffrent than what the logic says... i thought lightning>water because you can just electrify the water but in naruto they are equal :shrug:

Well pure water doesn't conduct electricity and even then electricity only affects water if you have a constant current running through it, separating the H2O molecules to just hydrogen and oxygen. Even water with dissolved solids in it would just conduct the water throughout its body, which doesn't "damage" the water really.
