thread, I am now confused on censor bypassing. As you can see, Scorps warned everyone in the end of the thread that Censor Bypassing was against the rules:

Closed as its clearly not going anywhere. Medical Students are chosen with many aspects into consideration. If you want to know the details of what aspects are taken into account, PM Nexus. Also, word censor bypassing is against the rules. Consider this a verbal warning.

After reading the entire thread, the only person who could be considered Censor Bypassing was the OP:

How long does it take to train the whole new recruits?

Why dont you make a application date for medical school so its not a suprise to people and they're like o F*ck i missed out cause i didnt check it cause it always closed.

How many sensei's are training the new recruits? (My guess is Minato )

Do you accepts old students back when your looking for recruits or are you looking for new starters.

What justu do you stop at when training the new medical students?

Why not just train the medical student till they've mastered it instead of training them part way then kicking them out

Why not just make it like the training system so people can just train in it instead of having to write a letter because some of us are shtty at writting letters and it just gives up hope for no reason when your name isnt chosen

How long does it take the normal sensei to complete this training because i just looked at the training justu list and that would take 3day 1 week if you wanted to be one of those up tight teachers lol

Do you guys atleast make the training fun or is it just a boring training cause that make anyone want to quite the training

Here is the atrociously written post with the "Censor Bypassing". Now you'll see that I bolded all of the words that were "Censor Bypassed", and the OP didn't actually Censor Bypass improperly because you can say most of the words that he censored out:

So according to the Global Rules he didn't break any rules when it came to Censor bypassing:

Censor bypassing is when a member deliberately tries to fool the vBulletin Word Censor. The Word Censor is in place to censor obscene words that may not be acceptable to certain visitors. Remember, Narutobase Forums is a family site, so, the Word Censor is in place to protect children and others that may be offended by obscene words. However, you are allowed to use the following characters to obscure at least one character in a censored word, so the word is not completely censored and the viewer can still understand what the word is:
~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + ` { } [ ] : " ; ' < > , . ? /

That was copied directly from the Global Rules, and although the poster may have done his own weird version of Censor Bypassing, he didn't break any rules because those words are not censored by the vBulletin Word Censor. And he properly censored f*ck by using the *, which is not against the rules. Although he did break other rules by insulting various people, but that's not the point I'm trying to make

This isn't the first time I've seen this; another mod once said the same thing about Censor Bypassing even though it seemed like everyone in that thread was also obeying the rules with the vBulletin Word Censor. Now unfortunately it was a while ago, so I don't remember the exact thread. But my point is that this isn't the first time I've been confused on this issue

So my grand question is, do we have to censor swear words like shit, bitch, and ass even though they aren't censored by the vBulletin Word Censor? Or is anything not censored by the vBulletin Word Censor fair game to say as long as we don't improperly dodge it like when someone uses this version of fuck? (and yes I just broke the rules, it's just for an example)

Disclaimer: I'm not involved in RP, I don't know sasuke ow and have never talked to him, and I don't care about the rp medical school. I just want this censor bypassing issue cleared up because like I said, this isn't the first time I've seen this happen

I don't care about this member, I only want to know what we are supposed to do when it comes to swear words and words not censored by the vBulletin Word Censor. As I stated in this OP multiple times, this isn't the first time I've seen this happen, and I want to know the exact rules when it comes to censoring words on this forum

The rules aren't incorrect. If you do use it to mask one word, then ok. Several uses makes it a behavior that shouldn't be encouraged. Thus why i warned the said member.

The rules exist and should be followed. But if i start talking with all the swears i can remember and simply blipping one word by using *, it doesn't make for a very good demeanor and behavior on the site, does it?

Thus why we moderators have what is called common sense. Most people don't know what it is, but it does enable us to detect unreasonable behavior and warn members to correct it.

So yes, i will always warn any member who makes a big post like that and writes more than 1 or 2 words with censor bypassing, be it by * or by bolding one letter, or whatever.
