CELTY STURLUSON
「 The Headless Rider 」
"You can't kill what's already lost its head."
Identity

"A long time ago, there was a rider who came from across the sea. She had no head, but she rode like the wind itself was afraid of her. They say if you see her on the border roads at night, you should turn around. Not because she'll hurt you, but because whatever she's looking for, you don't want to be standing in the way of."
Name: Celty Sturluson
Title: The Headless Rider / The Black Biker
Nickname: Setton
Age: Unknown (supernatural, appears mid 20s)
Gender: Female
Clan: Nara Ichizoku
Appearance
Celty stands at 5'7" with a lean, athletic build. Her most striking feature is what isn't there: her head is entirely absent, a smooth shadowy mist rising from her neck where a head should be. She conceals this with a distinctive yellow helmet adorned with cat ears and a dark visor, worn at all times in public. Without it, the void is visible: a column of dark smoke and shadow that curls upward and dissipates into nothing.
She wears a form fitting black bodysuit formed from the same shadow like substance she manipulates. The suit shifts subtly, trailing dark wisps behind her like a cape when she moves. Her hands are often wrapped in shadow formed gauntlets with clawed fingertips, though she can dissolve them at will. A faint aura of dark smoke perpetually clings to her body, intensifying when she uses her abilities or experiences strong emotion.
When mounted on her shadow steed, she becomes the urban legend: a headless rider wreathed in darkness, slicing through the night on a beast that is not quite horse, not quite machine. Those who have seen her ride do not forget it.
Personality
"Every shadow has a shape. Mine just happens to be what I need it to be."
Despite her terrifying appearance, Celty is one of the most genuinely kind individuals one could meet. She is thoughtful, empathetic, and deeply loyal to the few she considers hers. She approaches situations with a level headed pragmatism born of centuries of existence, though she is not above moments of irrational fear, particularly regarding aliens and, ironically, traffic officers.
She is silent by nature. Not by choice, by circumstance. Communicating through written shadow script rather than speech, her words are deliberate and concise. This silence lends an air of mystery that she occasionally leans into, but more often finds isolating. She is a better listener than most realize, largely because she has no choice but to listen.
Beneath the composed exterior lies a deep, aching longing. She searches for something she has lost: the vessel of her memories, her identity, her self. This search defines her. And this vulnerability makes her surprisingly gentle with others who feel incomplete.
In combat, the courier becomes the legend. Relentless. Efficient. Unnervingly silent. She does not taunt. She does not boast. She simply acts.

Specialties
Shadow Forge Specialist
Celty's Nara clan techniques extend far beyond simple shadow binding. She shapes her shadow substance into solid, durable constructs: weapons, shields, armor, and tools that function as real physical objects for as long as she maintains chakra flow. The Nara bind with shadows. Celty builds with them.
Single Hand Seal Specialist (Yin Release)
Celty performs Yin-based and Shadow techniques with a single (1) hand seal, a reflection of her innate, supernatural connection to shadow.
Apex Tracking Specialist
With no head to house conventional senses, Celty perceives the world through an undefined supernatural awareness. x2.5 tracking. She cannot be blinded or deafened.
Strong Fist
Pure Taijutsu attacks carry strength equal to Elemental Ninjutsu. Paired with CES, her physical blows are devastating.
Chakra Fortification (Shadow)
Adds an additional effective 10 Chakra to shadow or Yin-based techniques without increased cost or strain.
Background

Origin
The Dullahans are not a clan. They are not a bloodline. They are something older, a phenomenon. Beings of shadow and Yin that emerged from the darkness between life and death, neither truly alive nor truly dead. In the old country, across the western sea, they were called many names. The Headless Rider. The Coach a Bowery. The Ankou's Herald. Omens of death. Collectors of souls. Feared.
What they were, exactly, depended on who you asked. A ghost. A demon. A god. The truth is simpler and stranger: they simply were, the way darkness simply exists. And like darkness, they could not be destroyed. Only dispersed.
The Loss
Celty Sturluson was one such being. Or perhaps she still is. She isn't certain anymore.
What she knows is this: she came to the shinobi world from across the sea, drawn by the loss of something fundamental to her existence. Her head, not just a body part but the vessel of her memories, her identity, her sense of self, was taken from her. By whom and why, she does not fully understand. She remembers the moment in fragments: a cold hand, a whispered word, a severance that split her existence into before and after.
Without it, she is incomplete. The ache is not pain, it is absence. A hole where memory should be. She knows she had a name once, a face, a voice. She knows these things were hers. She simply cannot remember them.
So she searches.
The Border Roads
She settled in the borderlands between nations, taking work as a courier and mercenary. Her abilities, shadow manipulation, supernatural strength, and her spectral mount, made her invaluable for high risk deliveries and extraction missions. She built a reputation as the one who always delivers, no matter the obstacle. The Headless Rider of the border roads. A name spoken in whispers by travelers and missing nin alike.
Over time, she encountered the Nara clan and recognized in their shadow techniques a distant echo of her own power. She studied their methods, adapted their principles, and expanded them into something uniquely hers. Shadow Forge.
She does not seek power. She does not seek glory. She seeks only what was taken from her, and she will ride to the ends of the earth to find it.
