I like how Kishi emphasized Sasuke having flashbacks of the Boss Battle by using Water from the tank Naruto busted to remind him.

I also like how Sasuke was able to replicate Naruto busting the tank with Rasengan , using a Chidori that missed (Bloodlusted Chidori =<Casual Rasengan )..

OT: I'd put CM1 Sasuke soundly above Weighted Lee w/o Initial Lotus in terms of raw speed and physical power by a extensive volume based on the way Kishi portrayed him.

-So all in all i'd put him below Unweighted Lee's Tier of speed w/o Initial Lotus especially since Dosu seemed to have been able to Visually track his movements a bit which i doubt he could do to Unweighted Lee even barely so Chidori + lack of Sharingan + inferior taijutsu and speed means CM Sasuke gets killed low diff.

On the same page, Jiraiya remarks on Chidori's power. They're both pretty equal jutsu, it's just the way their power disperses is different - one is a focus type that can rip straight through a person's body where the other disperses it's power outward to "blast" over an area... Nobody at that point was overall superior. We even saw what happened when a full-powered Chidori directly clashed with a Rasengan... they're just equal.

I don't think there's much of a difference in speed or strength, though I know that Sasuke practised his Chidori some more, and pushing himself like he did against Gaara probably resulted in a bit of a stamina boost. We saw a lot of power emanating from VoTE CS1 Sasuke to the point where Naruto's punches weren't fazing him, but can he anticipate Chidori's speed from CE Sasuke? Who knows.

When it comes to sole ability, they're equal. And the Seishingan only forcibly speeds up the contamination of CS to unlock Level 2. He made that Chidori in base form, so the pill has no bearing.

Yes, that statement itself is one piece of evidence that pretty much shows Naruto and Sasuke were not equals. Kakashi taught him the Chidori yet he figured that if they clashed Naruto would've injured or outright killed him. He was only doubting his power because Naruto had surpassed him. No reason to be that insecure about his abilities otherwise, and I definitely wasn't talking about Gamabunta.

When he was training after this point he is shown flashing back to the moments where Naruto summoned Bunta AND where Naruto used his 2K Barrage. Then there's the Rasengan-Chidori almost clash as I already mentioned.

And Sasuke stated that his body was adapting to the new power he got, so it also influences his regular state. Not to mention w/o Shadow Clones Naruto was able to have a brief exchange with 2-Tomoe Sharingan Sasuke without actually being stomped yet Base Sasuke drew a lot of blood from Naruto with two direct hits and destroyed him in hand to hand in seconds.
