Anyone familiar with the MTV show called Catfish?
It's about delusional people that fall in love online being 100% certain the person they talk to is really who they say they are. It's really funny to see those awkward moments when ppl finally get to meet their internet crush.

Debate: Ever experienced an internet crush and did you get to meet that person? Or anyone close to you?

I had an internet crush, I met her through FB. I talked to her all the time and we had a really nice connection but when I took her to the movies, everything changed! I met her there and she did not look as I thought she would, I felt pretty played because I felt like she deceived me to get me to like her more which I feel a person should never do. Needless to say, I don't really talk to this girl anymore. Situations like Catfish usually don't like because one of the two people who meet via internet has lied at some point about some characteristic of themselves. The situations where everyone is 100 % truthful with each other is very rare IMO.

Sadly, I only met a gamer mate in Amsterdam a year ago. Most online male/female mates of mine live far away. I don't do online flirting, but I definitely met 1 or 2 girls that had something special as far as I could sense/judge through online talk. But that's where it ends. online talk. So I'd rather refrain from getting all smooshy

On Facebook, I would go through her pics but it was mainly pics of the face or whole body pics at a younger time. I was a little suspicious about this but I decided to move on from it cause I didn't think it would be much to worry about. This was wrong, I'm not saying the lady was fat but she was much thicker than she led on to be. And to explain my situation, this girl lived in the same city as me and we're both in high school (different high schools), we had talked via internet/texting. It was fairly easy for us to meet up unlike your case where people seem miles and miles away but we were both just nervous about it for the longest time.

You're smart to keep it as just online talk, trying to be all smooshy over the internet just doesn't work out too well, take it from a guy who has learned from experience
