Have you ever seen dorian grey?. Well if you have you will know that if the portrait containing his face ever gets destroys. His immortality and powers will cease to exist. The castles are stupid random so they might be a link to kaguya.

It's probably her old home.
She is a princess from a distant land.
Maybe it's distruction led to her immigration and desire to end war. That, in turn, led to her eating the fruit and FINALLY in turn, everything going on right now.

Kishi is most likely going to give more answers on her past--and I'm sure that castle has something to do with it.
