Which transmission is best? (This is for opinions, not facts.)

Manual, looks cool, sounds cool, makes you a better driver, and it saves gas.

Dual sucks, it's like kid mode manual driving.

Manual is better, but can be annoying in heavy, crawling traffic.

Manual. Though in my other car I had no choice but Auto, though the paddles (sort of) make up for that.

Why manual? It gives you more control, is lighter than an auto box, allows for better top end and is less juicy.

With an auto, you never miss a gear. Great for for drag racing or straight line acceleration. And generally can handle more power. Tuned right to select shift points and it can be a rocket. More common at junk yards if you're looking to replace because more people use them. Downsides, lag when downshifting to pass. And if you manually downshift it, there is no rev match unless it's programed in. More expensive to repair.

Lmao tiptronic is the name for it. It's like manual but you can't stall it, and there's no clutch. So it's like automatic and manual at the same time

Still an auto trans, but you have the option of overriding the auto funciton. And every transmission has a clutch. But not every transmission has a clutch pedal.

With a Manual, you have more control of the your revs. Meaning you can choose the best possible gear to match the engines revs for efficiency whether it be for fuel saving, braking, or accelerating. Usually great for cornering if you're an experience driver and know how to heel/toe and rev match. Can save your brakes if you know how to engine brake. Easy to repair. Downside, you have to be able to multi-task your limbs. Left foot to clutch and brake, right foot to brake and throttle, arms to steer and shift. And at times all your limbs can be doing something all at the same time. You can also miss gears. Also try to imagine being stuck in traffic going up hills like in San Francisco.

Best would be a sequential. It is an manual and has a clutch for first or reverse gear. But every gear after that doesn't need a clutch to up or downshift. But you have to go up or down the gears sequentially. Meaning if you are in 2nd gear and want to go into 4th, you have to shift into third first. Can't skip shifts. But shift times are reduced and with systems tuned to a cars PCM and BCM, the car can shift faster and than a any human can. Can have a console shifter, but most have paddles on the steering console. It's what all the super and hypercars are using these days. And most of all the racing world. Bad thing is costs as much as a car. $20K plus transmissions, but if you have to money to get one of those exotics, you have the money to burn on a trans when it craps out.

Manual.

You have more control of the car and it just feels better. Automatic is too lazy for me.
