»Appearance«

Captain Harlock is very tall and possesses long brunette hair. Across his face is worn a visible scar on his left cheek and over his right eye is an eye patch. Being a pirate, Harlock is eccentric in that his wardrobe consists of almost all black leather. He wears tall leather boots and leather gloves. His outfit includes various pieces of metal armor. On his chest is a white skull and cross bones heavily contrasting with his black leather outfit. He also wears a large black cape with red lining and a high, stylish collar. He wears two belts that have a large variated selection of ninja tools stored in them, one of the belts holstering his rapier. Inside his cape he has more of such tools along with a mask that he may put over his face in order to avoid breathing noxious air or in order to breathe underwater. Harlock is sometimes seen with a pet bird sitting on his shoulder which is large and black with a long neck and beak. Captain Harlock is often seen with his arms crossed or sitting in throne type chairs much like Captain Sosuke Aizen who happens to be a good friend of Harlock's.

»Personality«

In Harlock's words, "To be a pirate is to take responsibility for oneself." Harlock is the archetypical Romantic hero, a space pirate ninja with an individualist philosophy of life. He is as noble as he is taciturn, rebellious, stoically fighting against totalitarian regimes, whether they be earth-born or alien. In his own words, he fights for no one's sake... only for something deep in his heart. He does not fear death, and is sometimes seen wearing clothing with the number 42 on it. In Japanese culture, the number 42 is associated with death (the numbers, pronounced separately as "four two", sound like the words "shi ni"—meaning "to death").

»History«

Phantom F. Harlock began as a soldier in the military. He became a captain of his own battle cruiser Deathshadow and was sent on a long mission to fight alien invaders from another land. Captain Harlock returned from his mission to find that the invaders had conquered and enslaved his country. However the remaining people blame him and other warriors like him as they were not there to protect them when they needed it. Harlock sets out to lead a resistance against the aliens. In a final battle Captain Harlock defeats the occupational commander in ship-to-ship combat. The people of the nation nonetheless declare Harlock an outlaw and exiles him. Amidst a land that prefers servitude to their new masters over the hard but noble fight for freedom, Harlock and his new crew of idealists set out as pirates to fight for freedom. Being accepted into Amegakure, Harlock is assigned into a squad with Jack frost and Hashirama as his squad leader. During his time in the squad he learns techniques from the paths of pain, Korra, Leafy and Souji who lived in a different village. Eventually Harlock was transferred into Squad one to consist of Vegeta as squad leader and Rentaro who was another member. Around this time would arise the tradition of new member initiation involving honey which would remain. Members like Rentaro and itachiuchihatheblackcro would be some of the first to experience it. Harlock once went along with Rentaro and others to participate in a tournament in the land of fang at which point it was revealed that the two had to fight each other, however it appeared that during their drawn out fight they had been disqualified and so they returned to Amegakure. Harlock began to learn more from Pain, Godot and Souji who were only sempai at the time while also learning about storm release from Noni who was only a shishou. He learned much from Vegeta who trained him to take pride and to DODGE. Many things happened but once again Harlock was moved into another squad. Alongside with a newer member named Keji, this squad would be led by Yasutora Sado who was famous for being a member himself of the zero squad. Meanwhile Harlock would begin learning techniques from the Fuukage as well as many others.
