Cant tobirama unseal himself from edo tensei?

Good question, may be or just Madara only discovered the release seal as we have seen many advancements in edo tensei, compared to what Tobirama created..

Kishimoto might never have thought about labeling Edo Tensei until Shippuden, as it never mentioned until Shippuden.

Madara was only able to do this cuz he had complete free will during fight with the kages

Orochimaru has already taken control of hashirama and tobirama before so it would be easy like it was before

Madara could break free because he was fighting the 5 kages from his own mind, Kabuto was too busy with Itachi and Sasuke to control him.

Tobirama didn't even have control over his body the first time because Orochimaru forced Tobirama & Hashirama to attack Hiruzen all the time...? therefore he couldnt make the hand seals.

madara was thinking on his own even tho he could still be controlled. not the 1st and 2nd when they were first summoned.

According to Madara, someone only has to know the proper hand signs in order to release oneself from Edo Tensei. I don't necessarily think this applies to being controlled, though, since that is dictated by a separate tag that is unique to the caster (Orochimaru and Kabuto used different sealing tags). I think this primarily applies to the sealing of the soul to the body. If you noticed, Madara only released himself when the technique was release by Kabuto.

Additionally, the ability to release one's self from Edo Tensei also can be limited by the amount of free will that person has. Kabuto gave Madara nearly complete control over himself. Whereas, Orochimaru was in total control over the Hokage when they fought the Third.

Tobirama should actually be able to break through, provided that he can form the seal(after all it was him who made the tech.)
