can't root my phone

Please I need help my sony ericson arc s Lt26i is kind off frustrating me I was trying to install android 5.1.1 lollipop but then I need to root my phone first, I have used every kind of rooting software I tried kingroot, iroot, towelroot I even tried using flashtool to flash the kernel and use doomlord eaSy rooting toolkit but yet it's still not working my current build number is 6.2.B.1.96 OS 4.1.2 is it possible that I need to completely downgrade my firmware first or could it be a hardware problem please any suggestion will help out
