Yeah, I took a closer look at the Susanoo and saw that the armor for Madara's seems thicker than the one for Sasuke/Itachi's. At first I thought it was size cause Madara's are bigger and tanked more things. But, whatever, I was wrong. Well it was always my view that it was the strength of the chakra itself.
