But the fillers weren't fillers but an actual draft created by Kishimoto to include in the manga which the editors didn't let him do due to deadlines. So it's canon for me.

This. I don't think people understand publishing. If Kishi used everything he had in mind then Naruto would be close to 800 chapters by now.
