My experiences living on this planet has changed me and personality has.
I believe that all relationships are meaningless(ex. Boyfriend, friend, parents etc.)
I know at this point that being rational and losing all of your emotions is the best option in life.
No pain, no joy just being 100% completely efficient and not waste feelings on anyone including yourself.
Just being completely rational.

My Rules

1. Don't think of the future or past. Just the present.
2. Never listen to music, tv shows (unless educational) any form of media that invokes emotions.
3. Never take anyone seriously. Just put a "mask" to blend in with other emotional beings.
4. Make sure you're completely healthy, using your rationality, you make sure everything about yourself is the most efficient as can be.

What do you think about it guys ? I'm slowly reverting I want to be like this.
What is your opinion on this thread ? I'm curious.

Just sounds like everyone else, afraid. That's like the base of everyone's decisions, whether it's fear of death, rejection, humiliation. It's pretty disgusting, all I'm reading is, "I got my feelings hurt and now I'm scared of them".

For one you can't turn your emotions off, that's some anime shit not a real world ability. Either you're a sociopath and born without them or you run from them, mask them, or lie to yourself..or of course face them. It's apart of the human experience you have them for a reason. I wouldn't let them rule you but I wouldn't run away from them.

But honestly I'd blow my brains out, if everything is meaningless what's the point?

----> Not advising you kill yourself <-----

But really if you never enjoy anything there's no point. Emotions aren't bad, life in general has way worst things for you to worry about.

the fact you think some of these things are rational just goes to show me that you have an irrational mindset

that level of 'rationality' you're going for is not even humanly possible. you're describing a psychopath at their inner core and even then, that isn't even entirely true, as they simply process emotions differently

the trick is not to go to either extreme, but find equilibrium in . you sound utterly miserable and this is a form of escapism you will likely not achieve, i'm telling you this now

if you are deadset on it, go get a lobotomy and start from there ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How do you refute a lifestyle?

Yes.

I already am.

Can you focus on the thread ? I guess not.
I think I did focus on the thread. You're contradicting yourself.
Also I don't give a shit about who hurt you to come to this conclusion. However I'll accept your challenge to refute your "way of living".

Humans make decisions with their limbic brain, this is not the same brain that understands logic. That would be the neo-cortex, essentially you can have all the reason and logic in the world but the final judgement comes always down to your emotions. This is a relatively new study that was discovered by neuroscientist, Antonio Damasio.

Hate to break it to you.

I'm not afraid. Nor am I hurt. I just want to be efficient. Having emotions seems like a inefficient quality to have. It's always in a way and even though it does have it's benefits, it's just not something that is needed. Only rationality is needed to be effiecent.

You think that you focused on the thread ? You didn't even answer my the questions until I told you too, like a puppet.
Is there anything that supports Damasio's study ? Is it proven yet ? Please go on.

Well hey, we're all on our own path and you'll do what you want. I'm just saying its foolishness, how do you expect to be efficient without emotion in a world where everyone has it? It puts you at a huge disadvantage.

Being efficient would be getting a grasp on your emotions and learning to live with and use them. That's all I have to say.

I just had to ask. Honestly man this sounds like some train of thought I was on at like 13 before I discovered weed and learned to chill tf out

Nah that's a joke but seriously it sounds like something I would've in thought of in high school or something. You know when you just starting to come into your own and learn about the world. It doesn't make as much sense as you think it does bro.

That whole "don't think of the past" thing doesn't work. And this is the first time I've heard anyone seriously say don't think of the future. That shit is a little crazy too. You said to be 100% efficient. You can't really become better at something or get over something if you never take the time to look at how you used to do or feel about certain things. And as far as the future...what's the point of being 100% efficient at something if you aren't working towards anything? It's like telling a high school graduate to just pick a college major but never think about whether they actually want to work in that field one day. Backwards as hell. Even in business, improving efficiency means looking at past performance and future projections to have something to improve upon and a benchmark to grade improvement.

It's 2016...we got ISIS members sending infomercials from caves. Gonna be hard to avoid all non-educational media in this day and age. You'd have a better time avoiding the dooze touching your inner cheeks when you use the Jon

That whole "putting a mask on"....it's called pretending. I can't tell you how many times I called myself not taking something or people seriously. But if you're going to think about it...you're going to think about it. A "mask" doesn't make you a different person, it's just hides what's underneath. Take you for example. You said you're already trying this way of living, but you made this thread. I bet you been having convos about this for the past few days now haven't you. Probably up here. In fact you still using this thread and asking questions is pretty good proof of you needing some sort of interaction. The crazy thing is I'm sure there are a million more efficient things you could've done with your time

The whole thing just sounds self-defeating. Like I said though I used to be on the same wave though when I was younger. I think a good point in changing that for me was when I took this Psychology class. There's a theory called "Maslow's Theory"...that may not be the right one so don't quote me...that breaks down human needs and the order in which we try to meet them or something like that. Human connection was like right after our biological/psychological and safety needs. So basically when we're fed, clothed, and feel safe from harm, we seek companionship on our own in some shape or form naturally.

At the very least dude unless you're asexual you'll need a partner to ****. So don't give up on people just yet. Unless bestiality is your thing or something

Being efficient would be getting a grasp on your emotions and knowing how to deal with them.

Like I said I put on a mask. I am emotional around emotional beings. I just copy and reflect too make it genuine. It hasn't failed.

christ, i have to go all in
1. Don't think of the future or past. Just the present.
impossible

2. Never listen to music, tv shows (unless educational) any form of media that invokes emotions.
even educational shows can invoke emotions. this is such a narrow-minded view of things

i'm sure bill-nye made several children happy and entertained as a child and blackfish shed a few tears and made several groan in disgust, eh?

3. Never take anyone seriously. Just put a "mask" to blend in with other emotional beings.
impossible, and far too vague to even consider. what...? what do you mean take no one seriously? mock and ridicule them? tell them that they're a waste of breathing space?

what's the point of this?

4. Make sure you're completely healthy, using your rationality, you make sure everything about yourself is the most efficient as can be.
you're viewing 'healthy' as something that's either be all or end all, when it's simply not. what may be efficient for one person may not be efficient for another. if you were rational about this, i suppose eating a specific amount everyday and drinking water everyday would suffice if you want to be entirely rational about your diet and stick with what your body needs? why not just suck the joy out of icecream, too, pal? are you gonna give up icecream because icecream gives you a good feeling? because, oh heavens no, you'd actually like that! horrifying!

It seems like it has, nobody likes the fake person and it's painful obvious in most situations. If you were real with people maybe you'd find worthwhile relationships with others. If you can't be real with anyone you'll never find anyone real, I can see why you think things are meaningless.

You just have to learn to be comfortable with yourself. I know you'll say ,"I am" but you're not and its obvious in these posts. But I have to go, good luck with you're philosophy.
