Yeah it's a specialty of the swordsmen Kisame was the only one not shown using it but he did so in one of the games if I recall correctly.

Itachi and Minato....

Minato tags itachi so he can transport inside Yata whenever to tank tobirama attacks...

Minato could use S/t barrier to extend Totsuka and Amaterasu to the point where they could attack from anywhere any time.
