Sarcasm aside, yaata was given limitless hype 300 chapters ago, a time when Kirin was one of the most powerful attacks in the manga and its best feat is blocking a bunch of paper bombs. TSBs have no sold quad bijuudamas, Itachi might as well try and block the orbs with a piece of cardboard.

They appear to be composed of the same thing as susano'o, (also does it really state that the Sage created it???)

In any case though it is composed of multiple chakra natures it, but it hasn't been established that it has senjutsu. Susano'o itself seems to be a spiritual entity, but it was still pierced by Omnyoton.

believe me, I wish I could 100% prove that yaata was used against kirin, because that would 100% destroy all of yaata's hype since kirin not only wasn't reflected, but itachi's susanoo was completely destroyed and he himself was even slightly damaged by the attack.

However, I'm giving itachi fans the benefit of the doubt here and saying since we didn't see yaata used against kirin, it wasn't.

chakra is made up of physical and spiritual energy, and the bodies of shinobi possess both. onmyouton eats it up just like it would anything else that's non senjutsu.
