Not really, it's similar. But it wasn't like the Hot topic. Alot easier to make it on there with a good thread.

But aren't threads that have alot of comments what make it hot? It wasn't just a bunch of thanks and reps to the user that made it like that. I would say that they most likely renamed it.

no, the way the popular threads works is that it goes by number of views

hottest threads went by number of replies

Yes, but when it leaves the homepage people will not see it as quick and when it leaves the latest 100 threads list it could still be there for people to view and continue discussing.

no, the way the popular threads works is that it goes by number of views

hottest threads went by number of replies

But either way, I think they went with this system because it was better. Views are really the main reasons for replies, since no one would give 1000k views without commenting on it unless it's closed.

Well people can view it and not reply to it. The thing with the hot topic was the replies. I mean I'd rather have more replies than it just having like 60 or less in the thread. And they went to this system because of the trolls. They thought it will limit the spamming, it did a little but it's still a concern.

It's not really about mods doing their job, it's more of keeping the forums clean from troll threads. Some people get tired of handling that each and everyday. Can't blame them. xD

The hottest thread section was pretty cool. It gave good recognition to the good theory threads, etc. Yes I know that trolls ruin it by making spam threads to get on there. And yes I know that the Forum news is good and useful, but that was great. Members were competing with each other to make it on there with good quality threads.

It made it a little funnier. Could the staff run it by the Amins and have them consider it?
