So a company has decided to take the bravest step of human evolution and has proposed a colonization on Mars, the Red Planet. Now this isn't so much NEW news but they are winding down to their selections and training process so I thought I'd enlighten those who haven't seen it yet.
The project, entitled MarsOne is a one way trip to Mars set to house over 1,000 applicants ranging from 19-81 years old. They will stay on the planet, in a secure connection with Earth in a form of television series like thing. (Mind you this is not a social experiment of any sort, this is actual science experimentation). They aren't allowed to have *** on this alien planet as scientist are not sure how space radiation and low gravity will affect babies, plus, childbirth can get pretty messy and in space a simple drop of water is enough to end you so no arguments there. The genetics of each applicants were selectively different, all races are entailed, even the rare ones like Sentinelese people are expected to be included. Overall this mission will exceed the cost of $5 Billion dollars, ($5,000,000,000!!!!!) whoa...
But I ask the base now, is this something we should embrace? Should we boldly accept the efforts of MarsOne to colonize an alien planet. Ice caps have been found on Mars albeit in permafrost but this means....that at one point in time the precious substance of life was indeed on the planet. I am congratulating the company for taking such a ballsy move but at the same time I can't help but say this is a tad bit ridiculous, you're basically committing suicide. But it's for the sake of our race and its advancement so I guess it's warranted? What do you guys think?
