Can we all agree that Naruto is a prodigy or a genius?

U can't deny that he didn't work hard, can u??? U definitely can't put him on the same level as other prodigies like sasuke and his dad.(not the level of their power, but intelligence, making strategies, etc.)

Michael could easily.

I don't think kishi himself understands what a genius is. There are characters who achieved great things in very short spans of time but aren't called geniuses e.g Tobirama, obito(learned everything madara taught him in under a year), etc.

That's is very true. Everybody used earth release on the first try against the ten tails with no problem. Guess Everybody are a genius or a prodigy right there.

Nope! Ain't no hard-working prodigy. He is just a prodigy.

Boruto is a prodigy that learned everything naruto did and hours just like it was said sasuke was a prodigy he learned faster them most

That much is obvious. Throughout the series he was called as the child of prophecy, along with a hundred other hints of him being special.

People who deny it are just delusional.

Sasuke was a prodigy, but that doesn't mean he didn't work hard. If he didn't work hard then he wouldn't have gotten stronger.
In part 1, Naruto was only as strong as Sasuke because of the Kyuubi chakra, because Naruto was no prodigy. He worked very hard and with a little help from the Kyuubi he became as strong as Sasuke.

Conclusion: Both Sasuke and Naruto worked hard to get to where they were, just because one was born a prodigy doesn't mean he should get less credit.

"destiny" and kurama within certainly cushioned naruto's progression in the series, however at the sametime it was kurama that held back naruto's ability to have good chakra control, especially with his small body containing such a thing. this is why he struggled to one-hand rasengan and use clones effectively. because of that, hard work was needed for naruto to compensate this, which is why naruto figured out how to use shadow clones to help form rasengan as well as use clones to build up on natural chakra in the frog world when fighting pain. these reasons is why naruto is both a hardworker and a genius in his own way because he utilized his clones in beneficial ways. (that's just one of many examples of naruto's genius through his shadow clones)

Destiny and his uchiha genes did cushion sasuke, however the difference between sasuke from naruto is that his sharingan did not hold back sasuke (well...kind of if you believe his sharingan did not evolve until kishi says so for plot reasons). made things even easier for him as he progressed. naruto on the other hand didn't completely benefit from kurama until he debut in the war arc. with that said, hardwork isn't as important to sasuke as it is to naruto, even jiraiya noted that back in part 1. as for genius lvl, yes, he certainly is. but it was never showcased until mid-late shippuden when he faced deidara and danzo, such as when he used his sharingan and lightning to neg the tobi bombs and deidara's clays in a effective way just as naruto used his shadow clones in an effective way while staying 2 steps ahead of his foe just the same. sasuke doing this is impressive, but what's more impressive is someone like naruto who did not have a good start, manage to close the gap in a such a short time. both are geniuses, but naruto has more feats shown of his genius and hardwork. should naruto be the face of hardwork? probably not, but i think it's fair to say he is a good candidate to be the face of genius in effectively finding ways to cheat years of practice and outsmarting foes with something as simple as a clone. should sasuke be the face of genius. no, but he should be credited.

should also give credit to jiraiya/kakashi for being such good teachers to the both of them. without them, they both would had been screwed, especially naruto.

He seems slow at learning early but that is only because he had no one to teach him. Once he started getting his fundamentals down and had competent teachers he learned thing s really fast and fairly effortlessly compared to most people.

One day you're bashing Naruto, another day you're praising him :|

Naruto is not a genius nor a prodigy but a hard worker.

Naruto's clothes are dirty.

Sasuke's clothes are dirty.

Boruto's clothes are clean.

Prodigy no....Genieus yes in his own right....Face of hard work no.....That would go to the entire life of Might Guy or Rock Lee although as kids when comparing screen time, Naruto was shown many times laying on his back in exhaustion and staying out all night training but Sauske not so so much. After Naruto tamed Karuma it was just freebee power ups handed to both of them. Not hard work.

In a sense, he was a genius, which is why he was compared to Asura as through hard-work, both of their powers blossomed and enabled them reach a power that for the most part, is unrivaled. I would call him a Genius of Hard Work and having a naturally high stamina due to Kurama and his heritage enabled him to do what he did in the first place, so he is naturally gifted, but can only take advantage of his talent through hard work.

Author doesn't...
Manga doesnt...
He doesn't...

Always(OK damn near everytime) saved by kyubbi then.. rasengan/punch and before or after tnj

RSM litrally gaves him instantmastery of abilities...

If he was a prodigy/genius he wouldn't be naruto.. part 1 wouldn't have been fodder to Lee & Le Sauce.. p2 wouldn't have been so badly lowdiffed with teammates.. he'll he probably wouldn't have needed kyuubi + hinata save during pein.. or at least hold out longer?

Orochimaru would've shown more attention maybe if he was a prodigy Jin of half uzumaki descent

Naruto is neither. He's a kid with huge chakra that knows shadow clones and a lot of great teachers to guide him... Also his best friend lives inside him that has more knowledge than just about every one.

Naruto was labeled the child of prophecy. not prodigy. His story was soo unorthodox that it worked out. Iruka sensei and jiraiya were the only ones to have supported him. Thats why the anime is showing the alternate story if his parents were still alive. Now sasuke is the one that struggles to match up to naruto. Kishi's team really put alot of thought into real time of "what ifs"

Cause and effect played the biggest role between the growth of narutos generation. So realistically the adults before their time are the ones to blame for putting future generations in turmoil

correction: Jiraiya and Iruka. kakashi had his own problems with his past so he wasnt much of a good teacher to help naruto. I would say Yamato was more useful

I would be a bit freaked out too growing up as a jinchuriki. not knowing jack-sh*t who my parents are. Look at steve jobs. His shadow clones were computers :lmao:
