Can we agree that sasuke genius is par with shikamaru?

We already know sasuke intelligent level which was highly underrated by other fans in his previous battle.Current we saw that sasuke did alot of research before he challenge Orichimaru in his base.This is also confirm sasuke beat orichimaru and he was nt save by plot no jutsu

This is similar method shikamaru did against hidan after he kill his teacher .Shikamaru plan bomb in a hidden location to blow up hidan and bury his remains

No he isnt, especially not this current sasuke, but they are close.
Both were in the same class and sasuke graduated top and was hailed as the genius of that generation even before he activated his sharigan. Could argue shikamaru was lazy, but my point still stands.

Anyway both's intelligence cannot be measured because they excel at different things. But if we were to go by who excels more at their strongest field, shikamaru is a greater genius

what does reading up on snakes have to do with being intelligent? sakura would have done the same thing.

Naruto's style of tactics is much more similar to shikamaru than Sasuke imo. Sasuke's tactics are good but straightforward, usually revolving around slight genjutsu to create an opening. Naruto like Shikamaru has an element of misdirection in his strategies. his attacks vs kakuzu and pain were very similar to shikamaru's battles against tayuya and temari.
