No. The eyes were reanimated as well. If sasuke implanted itachi's edo eyes, the eyes would have dissapeared when itachi vanished.

no remember that whan madara was revived he lost his rinnegan because the real eyes were with obito and zetsu just like the rest of the body an edo's eyes arent the real persons eyes, besides sauske already has itichis eyes he doesnt need to reimplant them

I wouldn't think so, but at the same time i'm puzzled as to why if edo tensei always regenerate, why did itachi's eye still lose it's light after trapping kabuto? since it's not his real eyes, shouldn't he have been able to fix it or was the jutsu broken before he could?

Yes, i was thinking about this, why didn't his eye regenerate? Beacause loosing sight is a damage to the eye, so his eye should regenerate right? And he should be able to use Izanami for ever. Plot error from kishi perhaps?
