Can there be two of the Same Edo Tensei characters

I was thinking that Kabuto should be able to use the chakra of a deceased shinobi to place into two or more bodies and make multiple Edo's of the same shinobi. Do you think i'm right? If no, then why not? I'm not all that educated in Edo tensei so forgive me if some of the stuff is wrong, or can't work or something ​

No. You need the persons DNA and a sacrifice to attach their souls.

I think it is possible, but only one of them can have the soul, pretty much like shadow clones.

Isn't their soul replicated when Kabuto inserts their chakra into a body? :wut: So, if he inserts their chakra into two bodies at once, the chakra should replicate the souls in both bodies. Just a theory... ​

Edo Tensei is a space-time ninjutsu because it summons the person's soul from the Pure Land using their DNA as a medium, and places the soul into a vessel made of "dust".


I think it's pretty impressive IMO, for Tobirama to be able to create such a technique in his of all eras. Especially considering the only others that can interact with the Pure Land are Rinnegan users.

i think it's mainly because his mastery towards fuinjutsu

No, Edo Tensei brings the SOUL of the intended character into the sacrifice body, not just the chakra. There can only be one soul

Edo Tensei is working by summoning a soul and trapping it into a body. Minato was able to split Kyuubi into two so technically what you're suggesting is possible but it would also decrease the power of the ET by half.

I doubt the firepower would decrease with access to an unlimited supply of chakra. Plus when souls split they regenerate to thier originals (Best example being Kuruma).

So, yeah it is possible. It just makes Edo Tensei even more broken then it already is.

So, yeah it is possible. It just makes Edo Tensei even more broken then it already is.

- Kurama is just a lump of chakra meat; doesn't have a soul.
- Minato and Kushina never split their souls; they just planted their remaining chakra inside the seal and used it in a similar manner to Edo Tensei, to summon their conciousness at the right times.
- Giving your chakra is not splitting your soul; chakra and the soul are two different things.
- Orochimaru was revived, not had his soul split. His soul was basically reborn by combining the consciousness residing within Anko and tying into flesh.

This isn't Harry Potter; souls don't get split so no, it's not possible. You live with one soul and once you die, it goes to the Pure Land. Only by using Edo Tensei or Rinnegan's Outer Path can it be summoned back.
