I think true peace can only exist after a period of conflict. After seeing the horrors of what humanity can do to each other, people will stop fighting and conflicting with each other. Thus, there will be a period of peace but it will only remain temporary because those feelings of knowing pain, hatred and suffering won't last forever (or rather they diminish over time). Kinda like Nagato's vision of peace when he was a villain. I mean, you usually see the best of humanity after a crisis (e.g. war, natural disaster, etc...).
exactly all these points that you bough up, how can you understand a sense of peace without these conflicts? peace can trully exist if there is evil, without a balance between both forces of good and evil peace cannot exist. because you will not understand what peace is.

I was just wondering because this world is so messed up. We have racism, war, genocide, gangs, politicians lying to us and being greedy, and many people are judgemental based on each other's looks. Things have gotten so much worse over the history of time and it seems like it's getting worse. It feels like the world is a lost cause. But if there was a way that we can achieve true peace, how could it happen? Can we stop all the pain this world is causing and band together?
If you take a actual look at history(further research than what you get in basic history books), then you will see if anything, things have improved slightly, or stayed the same.
If you look at the actual arguements and politics of 1774(year USA established) then you will see the same old things as today.
If you look in the past, you will find MANY MANY things they did back then was MORE BRUTAL, than today.
The differences between then and now, is that now we are able to see things across the globe. We can see the injustice that happens EVERY DAY, without haveing to travel the world(as was in the past). We keep more records, and report things daily.)
And also is that democracy is much more prevalent. Democracy in a uninformed population results in the person that sounds the best, or looks the best, or has the proper letter next to their name(R or D) instead of the person best for the job.(this results in more suffereing and conflict down the road)
With a informed voter population, the person NEEDED for the job is hired. Not the person you want. You have people who can REASON properly.
When your toilet breaks, and is flinging sewage around your house, you dont call a electrician to fix it, because he says great things. You hire a plumber.
Or the dark knight "Youre the hero gotham needs and deserves, but not the hero they want"
Sometimes what needs to be done HURTS. But it is better to hurt, than to die.
Here is a perfect example of this. The man in this video broke his ankle. He can either try to live the rest of his life with a broken ankle, and just use crutches and other medical stuff, or perhaps even die from a infection. Or he can just go to the doctor(the person who is qualified to fix him), and endure the pain of haveing his ankle reset, and then begin the road to a full recovery.
In my honest opinion, humanity has not gotten any worse. We have changed, but not gotten any worse than 100-1000000 years ago.
In my opinion, true peace can definately be obtained in our world. LASTING PEACE, is a quite a bit harder.
My definition of world peace, is that there is only negative fighting, on a local level.
What I mean by that is this. Humanity will always be in conflict with each other. And that is by itself not a problem. Football teams, companies, are all fighting against their opposition, to be better, or the best. Competition(conflict), can actually make us much more stronger than we would other wise be. And humans will always have some sort of conflict(negative conflict). But true peace occurs when the only signifigant conflicts happen at a local level. Where the conflict does not cause others to be drawn into the conflict.
True peace will NEVER exist in the world as it is being shaped into. WHere you must accept someones teachings beliefs or viewpoints.
Where you make statements such as "men and woman are the exact same", or "there is not difference between a black man and a white man".
True peace is where everyone tolerates others, and realizes that they are all different from one another. Where the above quoted statements are seen as they truly are " Men and Women are different, but each have equal worth, and have strengths and weakness", and " Black men are different from white men. They have a different skin color. And perhaps a few more minor differences. But they are worth the exact same as all human beings, and the difference in skin color is equal in value to differences in eye color or hair color. They are just different cosmetically"
True peace is where a racist can say "I think all asians are dumber than dogs, and are not human", and people just tolerate him. They wont support him, or accept his views. But they do not try to change those views.
Very simply though, I very much think that there CAN be world peace in our world. Do I think it WILL happen? Im really not sure.
But I am certain that it could be obtained. That does not mean it will.
A little something else to think about. Peace is the absence of war. It is calm. War is the absence of peace. It is destructive.
Without war, there cannot be peace, as peace is the absence of war. And without peace, there cannot be war, as it is the absence of peace. In order for there to be peace or war, it requires the existance of the other. There can always be vastly unequal ratios of either. But there must be some balance.
I will do my best to generate peace and stability in my own sphere of influence.
There can never be true peace so long as the corruption and power-hungry societies continue to exist. And even if we managed to obtain it (the likelihood of which is very low), we could never maintain it. This is because there will always be evil, corruption or someone whose views differ from the majority.
You must really begin to think about what "peace" is.
Is an ant colony peaceful? In a sense - that represents what you hold to be peace. Ants of the same colony, for the most part, don't fight or conflict with each other. They all serve the purpose of the colony.
But here is the question - would you, as a human being with individual sentience, be happy as an ant?
The answer is no. You would never be at peace with your place in an ant colony. For starters - biology makes it impossible for human beings to be true hive minds at this point in time. You can have kids, and the biology is not set up for one human female to spawn a whole colony. You will always see your kids as your kids - the idea that they belong to some collective entity will never pan out in human neurology.
Humans are individuals. We have our own desires, our own passions, our own goals, and our own needs. That will always form the basis for conflicts between us.
The way to find peace is to look at how you handle those conflicts. Conflicts do not always have to be violent in nature, nor do they always have to be destructive influences. A conflict for power generation can induct new ideas into how to generate and harness power - or can inspire interest in making more efficient use of the power available (likely both). Not all conflicts must be resolved directly or immediately.
The reason why you seem to think it is impossible to achieve peace is because you believe you can envision a more perfect world than the one you are in. It's the pinnacle of human arrogance, and it is partly why so many people are suffering. We assume that we can create something better than the nature we were born into. The only way to make things better is to embrace our nature and learn how to manage it wisely.
