Can the Rinnegan be turned off?

Just like the Uchiha are able to revert back to regular eyes, can an Uchiha who gained the Rinnegan himself (Madara) turn the Rinnegan off at will? I'm pretty sure it was already shown that he can? Or am I mistaken?

I already know transplanted Rinnegan can't be turned off (Obito and Nagato with their permanent Rinnegan).

Will Madara be able to revert to regular eyes if he transplants both his eyes back (which are originally his anyways)?

It would kind of suck having to walk around with purple eyes all the time, looking like a freak lol.

I think madara would have permanent rinnegan, I mean not even someone with uchiha blood (obito) could deactivate it. I could be wrong tho.

Madara is able to do it. he did it while he was facing Gaara's division. And activated it then from there he had deactivated it.

bullshit.. nagato, from the moment he got the rinnegan transplanted has had the rinnegan on.. he just had his hair in front of his eyes all the time.
