[Discussion] can somone explain how onepiece is so great

Fun when you were 5, eh. I guess not much time has passed since you sound like a 10 year old brat.
I used to be a dumbass like you, totally into Naruto and ignoring everything else out there like One Piece. Hell, I even used to call Naruto a gay and stupid show without even watching it when I was into Dragonball Z. When I was watching Naruto and saw "that other show called One Piece everyone is talking about" my first thought was "haha, what a POS looking show, who would honestly like something like that?"
It's as simple as this.. and this applies to everyone (not just your ignorant ass). If you haven't seen the WHOLE SERIES, or at least a SIGNIFICANT amount of the series, your so called "opinion" doesn't mean SH*T. That's what i've learned going from series to series... you simply can't judge these anime by "how they look". Anyone who does this is truly missing out on some awesome times. So you watched a couple episodes and gave up... good for you... your opinion doesn't mean sh*t.
Now... onto what the thread creator was asking... what makes One Piece so great?
- Awesome characters (and the stories behind them, so amazing).
- THE COMEDY (oh man... One Piece has WAY too many funny ass moments that will have you laughing out loud.. and the comedy is 100x better than anything you see in Naruto IMO)
- Epic fights (the fights are something that first-time One Piece watchers usually complain about, saying they suck and are childish etc, even I felt the same way during the beginning stages of the anime, everything just seemed really childish and villains were pathetic looking). But you simply have to get through the beginning stages and you are in for some really epic villains + battles. The way One Piece always "builds up" to all the different battles is done WAY better than Naruto.
- Awesome storylines
- VERY MINIMAL filler (this is one of the things I really loved about One Piece as well, compared to Naruto where the entire first series was like filler :sy:, and still to this day, Shippuden has TONS and TONS of filler). Even the filler episodes of OP are usually really good and they fit into the storyline for the most part.
I could honestly go on and on about the good things in OP, you just have to see it for yourself and experience the awesomeness known as One Piece
You will become totally addicted just like Naruto. I had my doubts about the series when I was watching the first couple episodes and was seriously thinking about giving up on it, but I DIDN'T.... and boy am I glad... I would have missed out on something really great.Hope my post helps anyone considering getting into the series!

The answer this is simple. Find out. Don't let people tell you it's good or bad. One of the reasons I love OP is because when I started watching, all I knew is people liked it. I had no idea of it's true epicness, so when I was exposed to it, my balls dropped again.
Don't watch like 20 episodes or read 100 chapters and decide it's shit. The series got really good, in my opinion, when they went to Alabasta. From then on, epicness just flows and flows.
Stick to the show. As long as you're willing to be patient, you won't regret it. And don't be intimidated by how far it's gotten. Look at me, I thought I'd never catch up, and I almost have.

What the hell are you talking about? I think you should go back and read this thread more thoroughly. What? Because lots of people > 18 watch One Piece makes it gay? You make no sense.
