Can someone with the sharingan break Gengetsus clam jutsu?

I have been wondering whether or not someone like itachi can break out of the genjutsu, since its basically a visual genjutsu, so what do yall think?

itachi, madara and sasuke can probably break out of it but every other uchiha is stuck. shisui was only good at genjutsu because of his ms ability that he could use once every 12 years but other than that he was a basic genjutsu user so I'm sure he'd be stuck inside

dude the cool down is not for shisui, its his eye,so he can use it the way he wants, if the cooldown affects him, his KA wont be known and feared, he must have used multiple times, and if his cooldown is 12years, then, why did he want to use it on fugaku, coz definatley he used it,and if you say its 12year cool down, if shishui awakened his sharingan at 13, he wont be able to use it until he is 24, and we all know he aint above 20, so no, shisui doesnt have that cooldown

either way shisuis only genjutsu feat is his KA unlike itachi who is just awesome at them so i still don't think shisui could get out of the clam jutsu

the mist doesn't act like normal genjutsu. It's only a genjutsu that is only meant to mask the clam's location, so it's not like a Sharingan user has to break out of it. The only issue a Sharingan user would face is finding the clam.

The genjutsu is continuous as long as the clam is producing the fumes. Even if the sharingan user breaks out the illusion would just take effect again. They have to break out because the fumes creates hallucinations or false imagery to those that fall prey to it.

you're completely missing the point. The fumes does nothing to alter anybody's perception of reality even though its called a genjutsu. They merely hide the clam's location and nothing more. If the fumes did something to alter somebody's perception of reality, then the ninja who were trying to find it wouldn't be moving to begin with or would even know Gengetsu was speaking to them.

Not if the genjutsu is strong enough, the rinnegan couldn't see through frog song, pain couldn't jack about it.

There were sensor types that could sense chakra coming from animals and humans and they still couldn't find it, I doubt the sharingan is gonna do any better.
