I find this very offensive to those people who grow up being with their single mom.

Whenever you have to be around someone you don't like, ignore their presence. If you are in a group, talk to all the others. Pretty much, continue how you would continue the rest of your day as if you've never met him. If he doesn't want to be your friend anymore, he's irrelevant to you. Just pay him no mind, no matter what he says or does. Now, that doesn't mean to be a jerk to him. Keep all interaction as limited as possible. If you do come to a time where you are forced to speak with him, don't be friendly, but be cordial so you do not come across as the jerk.
