Can someone explain to me what this "prime" stuff is

I know being in your prime is like age 25-39 i think but where is everyone getting all this info about prime 3rd,onki and,oro seriously. Also I'm asking how can some "assume" they are this amazing and above the 1st at their perk?

We're getting info on Prime Hiruzen solely through hype. Prime Oro is when he was at his strongest point in the series. I can't say much bout Prime Onoki.

A person's prime can be at different ages. On the base, when they're referring to a person's prime they're talking about that character's peak. It usually applies to older characters like Hiruzen and Onaki and it is merely a speculation of the extent of their powers at their supposed "prime"/peak.

Prime Onoki? He's better than he was in his prime which was proven by Deidara if your refering about age.. This Onoki > Young Onoki

Age caused 3rd Hokage to lose mosy of his glory, so thats why we refer to a prime hiruzen because he was considered "God of Shinobi"

In overall when the Shinobi is in his prime it means he's in his best-strongest form.

Funnily enough prime is a relative matter: with age one gets more experience, deeper understanding of jutsu and perhaps add a few new jutsu to the arsenal, but with a young age u have more stamina, chakra, mobility but is reckless, less knowledgeable, less experienced and not so many jutsu perhaps. So prime can be at the middle ages too.
