sasuke said he would "cut away the past" if i remember correctly. But as manga stream only has the current chapter, and the previous, i cant be certain.
It seems though that sasuke simply does not want naruto to die, till he can fight him himself. Whether sasuke wants to kill him, or test him, or just fight him, is unknown.

I think beside naruto there is
no one who is a good friend of sasuke
Sasuke lost everything maybe as Naruto
is his best friend he is protecting Naruto

Sasuke could associate Naruto with everything wrong with the village system: Naruto is a compassionate idealist, tailed beast jinchuriki, and friend of the other tailed beasts. Naruto represents the things that gave rise to all the conflicts in the past. But Naruto is also revered and respected. All the more reason for Sasuke to want to be the one to personally take him out.
