When edo tensei is released the sacrifices corpse is released as well, the hokage were summoned using 4 zetsu so then the hokage left for the afterlife the zetsu were released.

Ok I see it now. It was a perspective issue that small hole is actually the large hole that everyone is inside of. Got it thanks
