We neither know how fast the meteor fell nor how big it was. But from the look of it Sakuras damage looks way more massive.

And yeah, I doubt that Lee with 8 gates is as powerful as Gai. It also would end up in a draw this way even if Lee would win because he'd die. So yeah, not really a win.
