Point is, if an FRS is "a little too much", how is it supposed to absorb a Bijuudama.

How do you know he wasn't referring to the enhancements Kabuto gave to him, as in ''Too much''? If it was actually ''Too much'', he would have difficulties absorbing it. But not even Pain was fazed by the energy of the Jutsu, so it's safe to assume Madara referred to his enhancements as ''Too much''.

What enhancements? All Kabuto did was turn back the clock of Madara's cells so he would be young upon revival. "多すぎるな" is very specific, referring to going beyond a capable limit - explaining the steam coming from his hand.

Also, you forgot to take into account that Preta Path used by Nagato and the Peins was different to how Madara and Sasuke have used it; Nagato creates a dome in front whereas the Uchiha absorb it directly into the hand. Furthermore, you seem to have forgotten that if the balance of positive and negative chakra is disturbed, it'll explode.

"な"= "na" is used for different things and doesn't imply that Madara couldn't handle that power which can't be true anyway since he absorbed it without problems.

Also Fujutsu Kuyin works always in the same manner and according to that it is capable to absorb every chakra in its range. In this context it's irrelevant whether or not Senchakra is involved.

Madara did say that but before absorbing Futon rasenshuriken...

He could've clearly implied if he got hit from that much energy it would take time to recover as an Edo (in due time the Alliance could've easily sealed him)... He had to absorb that energy through Rinnegans preta path to avoid that from happening...
