Bijuu are creatures made of Chakra. When they are sealed, the effectively have no physical form. At the very least, he definately gave Naruto Yin Kurama.


Although, you have to remember that Obito would have died when the Gedo Mazo was extracted without Black Zetsu, so i suppose he could survive passing the Bijuu on in the same way.
